seems nice, but wouldnt risk having an i/o fail, and cant work.
at least on audio8 you can use another i/o.

Have u seen Traktor Scratch Pro available only as software? Of course i was talking about the TSP as software+soundcard+timecode not just the software part. It would be nice if there was something like Traktor Scratch Pro upgrade for Audio 4 DJ that included software+timecode. Otherwise as i already said, I don't see use of phono/line inputs on Audio 4 DJ except to use it with other DVS systems.

IMHO timecode inputs will be locked for Audio 4 DJ. TS Pro software (or TS with Traktor 3) is forced to use Audio 8 DJ as timecode interface

    Hi Guys,

I am too a satisfied user of NI..

I was hoping for a Audio 10 DJ so we could finally use 4 decks and preview player.

But the audio 4? A bit lame.. Especially for the price difference with the audio 8..

I am happy it's tested in a skate-park.. I test all my stuff like that.

Hope it's also tested in a club with low latency..

    I am not impressed.. :(

There's some more information directly from Thomas in the
    german Thread.

Audio 4 DJ will be working with Timecode in combination with the upcoming 1.03 TSP Update.

But it's more meant as a possibility if for example there is an installed Audio 4 DJ in the club yet, because it makes more sense to work with Audio 8 DJ, cause you can't record your set through this interface because there are only 2 Stereo Ins.
    Also there is no Midi.....

Skate park testing? Who makes these lame videos anyway?
Is it that hard to make a video that actually shows the product in real live use with no marketing bs, and just the facts. Why do I have to wait for days to get straight answers to questions like latency and if it can be used with timecode.

Its obvious nobody bothered to read the market research or the forums for that matter, cause if they had have they would not have wasted their money on such a stupid marketing angle.

    I'm not impressed either.

    This skate-thing bothers me..

They must think most DJ's are idiots...

    Not good.

Well, you just never know when a marauding band of skateboarders or hockey team for that matter, are going to use your soundcard as a hockey puck. :)

Seriously, what worries me, is the drunk guy/ or chick who keeps dangling their drunk over my computer and midi controller.
Where's the protective metal casing for that? :|

I really think some of you are overestimating the reasoning behind that video. The skater guys are friends of one of our graphic designers, everybody had a fun afternoon trying to wreck the interface, and it cost pretty much nothing to shoot.

Plus, no software development ressources were harmed in the making of that video.

    Hi Thomas..

I am sorry. I just really did not get the reasoning behind that test..
But fun... Cool, I am all for having fun...

Really.. I'm a fun guy.. ask my ex-girlfriend...

Actually I just made that up... This video is actually part of a massive secret plan to permanently lower the standards in advertising for DJ products by pandering to shallow lifestyle clichés.

Nothing wrong with having fun, but you know what would have been a lot cooler,
showing the Audio 4 DJ with a dj and show the thing in action (no fancy edits either).
Show some real life stuff like latency, timecode use, etc. and then throw in the skateboarders to show us how this soundcard can take a licking and keep on ticking.

    Now that's fun! :)

I actually used to ride in that skate park in the video until two years ago, but then I quit because I felt my old bones were no longer holding up... so welcome fellow skater dude :D

I think the demo video with Ean Golden is supposed to cover that aspect.

Well I did watch the video, and it definitely covers the basics all right. I guess as a potential customer I need a little more info besides white paper audio specs and what equipment can be plugged into the RCA jacks.

To get to the point, what I would like to know is it certified to use with timecode and what will the price point be to add Traktor Scratch Pro, if you all ready have Traktor Pro?

    Thanks.
