Audio 6

I updated drivers and plugged my audio 6 into my USB camera kit but the audio still comes out the iPads speaker


Any idea how to change it to the audio 6?

The USB on the audio 6 is lit up so I know it is powering it

I tried the instructions but I'm not getting multiple out options.

I'm using a non official camera kit, maybe that's the problem but it works fine in other apps

 

There is a Firmware Update ready now in the Updates section. You need that.

 

Tried it and still not working. I'm not using the official iPad camera adaptor but it works ok in all my other apps

 

Have you tried the A6 on a powered hub?

Does it only work on the Hub?
I think it should work without.

 

It needs a powered hub or external power supply as the iPad does not have enough power output.

 

Oh yeah, it certainly needs to be powered by the AC adapter.

Pretty sure it should work without a hub.
Just wish my A6 was here.

FWIW the KA6 works with fine with a powered hub.

Not to draw NI's ire but IMO the best sound interface is going to be the Apogee Duet for iPad for one reason other than its famous conversion and pres:

Damn... Thats a great find. Expensive but cure my biggest issue with TDJ, keeping the iPad charged.

If you have a Mac, it works with it also so you're getting the best of both worlds.
This and the iConnectMidi 4+/2+ are both going to flip iPad music production on its head, watch. BTW, the iConnectMidi 4+/2+ also charges the iPad.

Power is the Key.

Now as far as the new Duet is concerned, it has a MIDI port that's CoreMIDI compatible. So I'm thinking this:

1. Connect Duet to iPad (charging it at the same time by plugging the Duet in)
2. Connect Duet's MIDI port to the iConnectMIDI4.

Not entirely sure if this will work as neither product is on the market just yet but being that everything we're talking about here is CoreMIDI compatible, I can't think of why it wouldn't.

 

Yeah seen that. I'd also need a 30pin to lightening adapter.

That could just be another useless cable in my box but ... worth a punt.
