    Hi all,

I've been playing with Traktor for 3 years now, and lately my Audio 8 DJ soundcard experiences drop-outs every 30 to 60 minutes (after +-2 hours of playing). No sound through the soundcard, however its leds stay on, even the USB signal-led. Traktor software acts like nothing has happened and keeps on playing the tracks, but one thing I noticed is that the track then plays at an abnormal accelerated tempo, 2 or 3 times its normal speed (120 to an estimated 250 BPM?)....
When loading another track, the tempo plays normal again. Then I unplug the USB cable between
Macbook & audio 8 DJ, and then put it back in, audio comes back through the Audio 8 DJ.
Lately I've tested this on another Macbook pro (with exactly the same settings), but the drop-outs stay persistent.
My question, to exclude possible causes and thus the additional costs, is whatmight cause this problem? My first guess would be the soundcard itself, but the weird thing is it only happens when I play in Club A every friday... whenever I play in Club B every saturday (or at home) I haven't experienced any drop-outs so far...
Also, this problem has occured since I 1) upgraded to Traktor 2.6.1 and 2) upgraded both macbooks to osx lion. Both upgrades were performed about two months ago, around the time when the drop-outs first occured... Before Traktor was playing just fine.
I've already been in contact with NI over this, but so far no solution has come across... Anyone else experienced similar issues and -hopefully- got them solved ;)?
    Finally,my system specs: Macbook 4,1 White ; 2,1 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo; 4GB (upgraded) 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM ; Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
My Traktor setup: Traktor 2.6.4; audio 8 Dj 2.5.3 (on usb 1) ; Midi Controllers Remote Zero SL & Icon Istage (on usb 2, hub powered).

I experienced similar problems last night. Did you find a solution? Never had these issues before, and I've used the same setup for years (haven't upgraded traktor for at least a year etc, so software bugs and incompabilities should be ruled out). I plugged everything at home this morning, and it was all working like a charm. This also happened last night at a club I've never been to before - is it possible that there might have been some grounding issues at the venue that caused these problems?

Well, I don't know about the grounding issues, but I did solve my problem last year. Unfortunately, I don't know which solution eventually led to a stable system, but my problems were solved in the week I: 1. did a full reinstall of Mac+ the backup I'd made of Traktor ànd (I think this was my serious problem) bought a high quality usb-cable to connect my traktor soundcard. Since those two adjustments, I've only had some minor problems, no audio dropouts though... Hope this simple but effective solution solves your problem!

Audio 8 has been discontinued, as more money can be charged for a lesser performing a10 that has quieter phono pre amps. and the chance that like the audio 8 dj, can be bricked by native instruments via update of drivers 24 months after purchase only to be told its out of warranty. how many audio 8 users had lights on but nobody home syndrome device cannot start, with no resolution provided, and 100s of posts removed about the issues.
I purchased audio 8 scratch pro and x1mk1 and had said issue, searched around and found there were a massive amount of people having the same issues buggy drivers busted software and failed hardware. its a real shame as ni have some great ideas but the customer support sucks. build quality is good but not pro standard and here it is the major issue is releasing terrible updates that I just cannot believe have been tested enough. of course this is only my opinion but I would love to no how many people have dead native hardware sitting at there house .
