    Hi,

I just moved to Snow Leopard, I set it to boot with a 64 Bit Kernal (as it boots with 32 Bit by default). It appears that the Audio 8 drivers do not work when the 64 bit Kernal is loaded.

Will we be seeing some true 64 Bit drivers soon?

    Thanks a lot.

if your on a laptop is using 64-bit worth it?
If you have more than 4gig of ram on board then maybe... however, using 64-bit with less than this will not show any performance benefits... stick with the standard 32-bit boot loader!

if you run activity monitor you will see even booting the 32-bit kernel many of the core applications will run in 64-bit mode - including system preferences!

Having just spent the morning doing a full clean install of 10.6, slowly rebuilding my system in all its 64 bit code optimised snappy goodness, I find that the Audio 2 driver only works in 32 bit mode. A driver update would be very welcome, especially as I suspect that the Audio 8 and Audio 4 are the same too.

I'm in 64bitland now and want to stay there!

N.I. is indeed 'evaluating' the what it would take to develop 64bit kernel mode compatibility for NI products.
As you know though no NI drivers are 64bit compatible at this time and N.I. advise against using 64bit kernel mode.

I guess only time will tell.

there is no point in holding down keys 6 & 4 on boot up... leave it at the default 32 bit... i promise you - you will see no difference in performance - give it a try and prove me wrong!

Like i said above, unless you have like quad core and shed loadsa ram then will you get benefit - but not for traktor coz its not there yet! all of the systems stuff runs in 64bit even when you boot 32... so happy days all round!

I'm extremely disappointed to find out that my controller doesn't work in 64bit. It renders my entire desktop useless for plugging into traktor. Any ETA on working drivers?
