I'm getting a new pc this week, and I would like to run Windows 7 on it.

Tried it out on my laptop with the Win7-RC1 64-bit a few weeks ago and couldn't get my AK1 to work with the Vista 64-bit drivers.

I have heard that it might work if running Win7 32-bit and the 32-bit drivers, but would like to get it confirmed before i install the new OS and decide on 32 or 64 bit. I only have 4gb of ram for now, so it wouldn't make too much of an issue..

Anyone tried it? Heard good or bad rumors? Any tips would be great. I need my soundcard working. :)

hi there. I can confirm that the AK1 works perfectly on my Win7 RC1 64-bit OS. Its been smooth and everything works fine. Vista drivers are compatible with Win 7 So i'm not sure what your difficulties are. Go for 64-bit. It should work and you'd be able to use the full 4gb of ram.

I didn't get it to work..

First I installed the driver downloaded from here (AudioKontrol1Driver_2010_Win), then plugged in the AK1. It first said installing driver, but soon changes to Failed. Device driver software was not sucessfully installed..

Am I missing a step, or what am I doing wrong?

I'm running the official RC from Microsoft.

Seems like it did install ok after all.. I restarted and plugged back in, and here I am playing, so I guess I'm ok. :)

I have tried my AK1 on two windows 7 machines and a vista machine (all 64bit), the AK1 drivers are broken in that I get BSODs (not often at all), and funny crackling and popping (often.)

I'm selling mine as I've had enough. Support couldn't help - they recommended I turn off ACPI etc.. things that are fairly essential to normal computer operation. They also suggested it was because the IRQ was shared. I very much doubt their AK1 runs on a non-shared IRQ.

All in all, terrible stuff. Months of frustration. Bad NI.
