Audio Latency settings?

I wanted to test my CPU so I cranked everything up to the max to see what it could handle. I noticed a huge difference in sound quality so I left it there with no issues.

 

problem with audio

I have a problem, when i connect m monitors, the sound is creepy, the bass sound is like saturated, i tried with serato and sound perfect...it could be a latency settings problem?i tried many settings and it sounds the same...I'm using Ecler nuo 4, macbook pro 2.26Ghz, audio8dj, clear vinyls, ortofon dj s, and traktor kontrol x1...please help me!

i have new macbook pro intel i5 2.4 ghz with 4 gb ddr3 ram, running traktor pro latest version along with firestudio mobile.
i'm using vestax vci-100 as the midi controller.
i'm running the application at 48 khz sample rate .
when i try to set the latency lower than 8 ms, i get cracks and distortion on the sound.
i feel something is wrong when i'm playing.
can someone please advise me thge optimum latency settings for this setup?

Wow, I was going to buy that same mackbook pro.

I have an old beat up macbook and everything runs smooth @2.5 48k depending on the version of pro. (1.2.4)

 

this is 1.2.6
do you think that it might be the problem?
btw i'm using 4 decks with keylocks. i'm not a minimal music dj so i dont use 4 decks at the sme time. i have 4 decks setup because its just easy to use when 2i want to switch from 2 decks playing at the same time to the 3rd deck

on my macbook pro 2,26 ghz , 2gb di ram and latency of 2,5ms sometimes i've little drops of audio !


this occurs especially when i change the effect with my kontrol x1..


before this release i NEVER had a problem.... and i use only 2 decks !

and i use an external hd with firewire 800 !

this is a very bad bad thing..... i can't use traktor anymore in a gig !

p.s. i've snow leopard updated...
