I'm hoping this can be fixed ASAP. Audio Mute currently mutes audio and events, while it should only mute the audio.

To make it clear, put a sampled loop that has a sustained note (event) that is at least a bar long. Turn on Audio Mute in the Sound Channel settings. Mute the Sound, start playback and unmute it mid-bar. If it was only an Audio level Mute the loop should pick up at the point that you unmuted it, however you have to currently wait until the start of the next bar (beginning of the note on event) for it to trigger.

    This is patently wrong.

The audio mute option is not exclusive. It is an option to mute audio in addition to midi. There could be another option on button 7 called midi so you could toggle that off too.

That being said, with the current way when I mute with audio and unmute the sample resumes. It does not kill any midi that was triggered prior to you pressing mute. It only will mute new events that happen after engaging mute. If you trigger a two bar loop and toggle mute on/off within 2 bars it will resume. However, if you turn off mute after 2 bars then you have missed the trigger.

The way it currently works is a bit silly (IMO). If I wanted to only mute MIDI I wouldn't engage the "audio mute" option. Additionally, I've never fully understood the rational behind track (Sound in Maschine terms) level muting of MIDI note events, as it only takes effect at the next note on event. Which is a terrible level of resolution. It seems to me that this type of MIDI muting is a holdover from when sequencers only handled MIDI data, and it should have been abandoned long ago when we first started using keyboard workstations, groove boxes and now DAWs. The only exception to this is that there is some usefulness if your using a MIDI note triggered FX such as the finger.

On the other hand there is tons of utility in being able to selectively mute CC data, but that isn't likely to be accomplished with Maschine and is another discussion altogether.
