Audio setup difficulties numark DJ iO

I just bought the numark dj io to cue up tracks in my headphones and plug in my speakers for the crowds enjoyment.

However when i go into my preferences on traktor i go into audio setup and click on the numark device, traktor stops working correctly and shuts off.

i get a popup window that says "traktor has stopped working" it isnt a one time thing, it has happened after restarting all my devices. any help?:angry:

are you currently playing a track when you do that? that can traktor lead to crashing

do you want to use the io as a normal soudncard or an asio driver for the io?

 

no track is playing when i do this. it is right when i set it up

Im not sure what you mean. I am new to this, but i have speakers plugged into my Dj io and also headphones to cue up the track. I dont know the difference between ASIO driver and a sound card

 

I'm assuming you use windows:
download asio4all and use that as your driver in traktor
a green box will appear in the tasbar, click on it, select the dj io, deselect all other cards

now try assigning the outputs

 

so i figured out my previous problem, but since your knowledgeable on this maybe you can help.

I selected my audio device (numark dj io) as the asio option. and im hearing it vaguely in my headphones, so i know it works. However the Latency make it just clicks and inaudible sounds. I know that has to do with the latency, but do not know how to fix it.

Im running traktor LE, with my numark mixtrak controller, with the dj io interface. My computer is hp, vista 64 bit. It has 4gb ram, 2.4 GHz processor. So it should be sufficient, i just need to figure out the setup.

 

is it the only soundcardyou selected? what is your current latency?

 

yes it is the only sound card i have selected, and right now i have an option of

sample rates: 44100 or 88200 Hz

and audio latency settings anywhere from 49 samples - 1024 samples. im not sure what it all means yet. Im new to this. but i have tinkered with the different options, nothing plays the songs normally.

 

yeah but what latency does traktor show under the selected soundcard

traktor should already set a samples value for you

 

under audio setup it says audio latency is 1 ms right now. do it want it high or low?

 

the lower the latency is the quicker you hear the signal but the higher is the stress on your cpu and 1ms is ridicoulusly quick

try playing with the settings in advanced mode of asio until you have something between 5 and 12 ms

does your dj io have a seperate asio control panel?

you could take a screenshot of all the available soundcards in traktor, i could propably tell you which one to choose then

 

i attached the traktor audio setup page, and the dj io interface, the interfce has a few options, i couldnt screen shot it with the options.

under audio setup, the options are:

Numark USB audio device (asio)

IDT audio high definition codec ( 6 in 6 out) (WASAPI (shared mode))

Numark USB Audio WDM 2.9.13 (2 in 2 out) (WASAPI (Shared Mode))

Bluetooth hands free audio

im not too sure what the problem is, but could it be the driver?

 

are you able to access a numark asio program for the dj io or a special asio version?

 

yea the program is just a screen that pops up that tells me the specs of the program, and then the sample options.. im wondering if it is driver troubles. im running on 64 bit,a nd had to instal that extra because it was meant for a 32...

 

you could try using asio4all then or look for a 64 bit driver for your interface

 

what exactly is asio4all. im not seeing what its going to do for me. I bought this hardware, and i dont see what that program is going to do..

 

asio 4 all is an asio driver with which you can select multiple soundcards and use them with low latency

but I'd check for a 64 bit driver first

yea i did that. and still same thing. i downloaded the asio4all and its no different. is that a compatibility problem? im starting to get frusterated because idk if its a traktor problem, a souncard problem or what.

 

did you select asio4all in the audio setup?

i think the problem is that you didn't read a single manual, tutorial or guide
