Obviously Jonas said not to change files for this competition, but for future reference, you should be able, inside Soundcloud itself, to replace the music file on your song. I have a Pro account and that option is enabled for me at least. Everything else stays the same, the address, the comments, views, likes, the art etc. You don't need to repost it as a new track.

i like the idea that only the ones submitting tracks should be able to vote.

edit** or have a minimum of at least 15 post before you can vote.

exactly, to avoid mysterious members recently registered with 0 post who give all their votes to the same contender...

I'd have thought greater inclusion is a great way of expanding the forum... getting lurkers to engage and contribute. Isn't that the point? Promotion of Maschine, rather than self-congratulation yes?
With a 15 post limit I don't think I could have even voted. And if you'll note, I also voted for other tracks other than my own Slyte.

Dick! Hey I just got your message on Soundcloud, thanks so much for the props bro! I was going to submit that track, but, though I did it in Maschine, I had exported the stems and rearranged the form in Ableton Live, so couldn't have submitted a Maschine file with identical form.... :(
The three I submitted were exported from Maschine as is.
I really appreciate the encouragement about it though. The track means a lot to me so... many thanks.

Hello everyone, apologies for the delay. I was ill the last couple of days and avoided looking at computer screens (my migrane thanked me).

The competition is now closed and we have our winners.

@Huboi is your August Battle Champion. Congratulations!!

@slyte and @dick_bagel are tied for second place. Congratulations to you both.

Please pm me with your expansion/synth of choice and I will give you my email to send me the project files.

Huge thanks go out to everyone who participated. Give us a couple of days and we will get the September Beat Battle up. In the meantime, do you guys have any wishes for a challenge this month? A specific genre or any other limitation that might make the battle more challenging?

Also if you have any thoughts on how we can improve the voting process please do let us know. While we received a lot of submissions not enough people engaged in voting imo.

Thanks again to all of you!

    Cheers,
    Jonas

yeah the voting process is wack. people register that day vote for their friend and then are never to be seen agian. i dissagree with tthe whole thing. it should be the guys at NI voting or only the people who submitted tracks. we should be judged by our peers, not by people tryin to game the system for a free synth.

Well I think that's just sour grapes guys. There's a disincentive for people in the running to vote for others in the running. I got private messages from you both saying you loved my tracks, but no votes from either of you? On any of the three tracks?
Of course not, why would you give a potentially winning vote to a rival?
That's not the way to feature quality tracks made in Maschine.
The "any member can vote" is fairest, and will grow the competition too, which I presume, we'd all want to see yes?

I still love your tracks, they are awesome. The rule is vote for your favorite beat, I did.
    Congrats for the win

How much time guys it takes for you to master track in comparison with developing scenes and arrangement. I mean not as @Huboi said about 20 years old track :) but seriously. 1-2 days or less?

I mean for example my "Nostalgie". I exported from Maschine, uploaded to SC. Posted link on this forum then were some busy days. Then listened from SC and realized that level can be louder on master. And the more I listen from SC the more I realize that some things must be changed. Is this process finishing somewhere? The problem is that the more I change the track(another instance not posted here) the more corruption to original sound happen at the end despite the whole track is midi. And the final question. Do you propose to contest only trusted time-tested compositions?
