August Beat Battle Voting Thread

Congratulations to @Huboi who is now proudly sporting the The Glorious Sash of Victory which @-nautica- has passed on with dignity.

Commiserations to everyone else - thanks for taking part. We're open to suggestions for tweaks in the competition so thanks for the feedback, but we'll stick with the current format for now because the whole idea is the contest is as open as possible.

But this is a community thing so we want your input - accordingly does anyone have any suggestions for the genre of this month's competition? Suggest below!

To be honest the good voting process is possible only on Soundcloud with advertizing on NI offical SC channel. Also to make it truly popular the genre should be hip hop, trance or house. I don't know how many of forum users develop music in these genres. Not me actually. But the harder fighting the better result. In this case the statistics for 30 days can be shared as screenshot from participant or requested by NI admin from Soundcloud if it's possible. @slyte, the orchestral never attract many Maschine users and how many of us have whole range of traditional instruments?

Votes for yourself shouldn't count, its pretty lame for guys to just vote for themselves and no one else. Was suprised how many people actually did that.

And the multiple accounts is silly too, when you call up 5 buddies to make accounts and vote for you it's kind of poor sportsmanship. You can let only the people that submit vote, but then you'll still have people not voting.

When it's all said and done not a big deal, and still fun.

 

I like the idea of a monthly genre challenge. It can inspire users to get out of their comfort zone. My only issue with the voting via thread is most listeners (potential voters) probably won't scan all 5 pages of music. That 1st page may be enough. Not sure if the admin can force the soundcloud links to display the smaller player...allowing more feeds per page. Then again, maybe its not that serious. Just my 2 cents.

 

I will try to make a soundcloud playlist for the next battle so you can have all submissions on one page.

Since we have a new battle for September up already, I will close this thread.
