Authorization won´t work

    Hi Markus,

    I opened a support request this morning and I will attach/send under the mentioned NI support ID the registry exports later today maybe in the evening. As stated in my support request I updated Kontakt from a Komplete 4 installation which worked without a hiccup on PC WinXP Pro SP2 latest SVP’s and a notebook WinXP Home SP2 latest SVP’s when I installed it. On the notebook there was no problem getting Kontakt 2.2 activated only the PC update failed with the activation.

    I hope you will find the problem soon.

    I downloaded the 2.2 update, it doesn't work telling me that an error occured and need to buy a new serial. That I can understand (but disagree!) since I own an Inel MacPro.

    But the problem is, I can't buy the upgrade, I got an "data adress invalid" as soon as I try to purchase! Sent several e-mails and recieved only one answer after 3 days telling me to rease plist and so on. I even tried to erase anything Native or Kontakt and re-installed from CD, ran the update, ran software, service center, etc... Still no luck!

    Hi SBL,

    there was a problem in the activation server logic that in some cases ask you to buy a serial number although you get the Intel Mac update for free with Komplete 4 and Komplete Care 2006.

    you will be contacted to get your money back!

    is there anybody else that bought the update license although they should not have to according to the info in the readme?

    we are working through the activation support requests. although all scenarios were carefully tested before release, it looks like a couple of cases slipped through.

    I had the same problem as everyone else here.

    I already had Service Center installed on my PPC G5 (OSX 10.4.8). After upgrading to Kontakt 2.2, and lauching Kontakt, it said it wasn't activated, although according to Service Center it was activated and updated to 2.2.

    I then binned Service Center, installed the latest version of SC and re-installed the K2.2 update. This time Kontakt synced properly to Service Center and saw the activation.

    In the last couple of days I have had the same experience with both Kontakt 2 and Reaktor 5 UB updates. On my MacBook Pro with both programmes the update appears to install fine. Used Service Centre to update - all good.

    Then when running both as stand alone apps they both also appear to run fine.

    However, with both in Cubase running as plug-ins they ask for activation via Service Centre > which when I run says that all programmes are activated.

    Basic problem is that they are still both unusable with Cubase because of this authorisation problem.

    Surely this should be relatively straight forward to sort out NI? Come on...

    we first need to be able to reproduce the problem!

    in your case it sounds like you are still loading the old plug-in versions in Cubase? are you getting the demo mode dialog or jsut an error message?

    I am writing this on behalf of another K2 owner who has had a nightmare after I persuaded him to buy Kontakt rather than Halion.
    He cannot register his new product using Service Centre or gain access to this forum to post this himself and the "help" he is getting from Customer Support seems to be going round in circles without addressing his issues. I paste his letter below with some personal details missing in the hope that Markus can help him, Thanks.

    "When I try to log with these details, it doesn't recognise my email/user details.

    This is my serial no.

    One early technical support reply from NI gave me this:

    Tracking number: RS 139996

    I bought the 'special 10-year NI-versary promotion containg:
    kontakt 2/kontakt experience/kontakt tutorial dvd/percussion adventures le - the box and disk say kontakt 2.0 crossgrade on them.

    The site won't let me register or authorize/activate kontakt.

    it let me activate fm8 on the same account.

    I have tried communicating with the account from 2 different email addresses:

    mashtup*hotmail.com
    mashtup*madasafish.com

    I have tried reinstalling kontakt 2 several times - the last 2 times after uninstalling: kontakt 2/ni service centre/kontakt plist/ni service centre plist.

    I'd like to get specific help, so if Marcus or someone can take this on that would be brilliant - I think this is a problem particular to me - maybe there's an issue with it being a crossgrade/ maybe I went back on my browser at the crucial moment when I was trying to activate Kontakt the first time - I have no idea.

    This is the email they keep sending me (give or take a bit of variation):

    Dear customer,

    Your product registration for Kontakt 2 Crossgrade has not been completed
    because the product you are updating from has to be registered first.

    The user account is active, however the access rights regarding Kontakt 2
    Crossgrade have not yet been added to your account.

    Please use the following user account for all additional registrations:

    hm, in this case, though, I am also confused to which product you where crossgrading from?

    you can only activate the Kontakt 2 crossgrade bundle below if you have first activated a qualifying product:

    "For registered users of INTAKT, KOMPAKT, AKOUSTIK & ELEKTR. PIANO, BANDSTAND and all the NI samplers on third party sample libraries (e.g. East West, Zero-G, Garritan, Big Fish, Best Service, Art Vista, Sibelius etc.) "


    I can only see FM8 in your account so far...

    Hi Markus,

    I thought this might be his problem somehow, thanks for the prompt reply.
    He has now realised that he actually HAS Intakt as part of the bundle (a Homer like Doh! moment), has registered it and then successfully registered and authorised K2.2.
    Thanks for putting him on the right track. He is well pleased, and I'm off the hook for getting him to buy it!

    I'm getting an activation problem as well. I got Komplete 4 as part of the Komplete Care 2006. When I try to register it I get:

    You have to buy a new license. Please go to the <a href="http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?intelmac_us" target="_blank"><u>NI online shop</u></a>.

    I really don't understand this as I'm not on an intel mac even. Please note I had to do an offline activation and locate this text in the XML because all I can ever see in service center is:

    "You have to buy a new license. Please go to"

    Which isn't incredibly useful. This sucks, long wait and now this. Blah. At least it didn't unregister anything.

    I believe I am having the same problem as you are. I am on a Windows XP Pro machine. I have Komplete 3 up and running with no problems whatsoever. I just got my Komplete 4 update in the mail, and lo and behold when I tried to activate it, I got the same "You have to buy a new license. Please go to the"

    I don't really know where to go from here. I was going to completely uninstall Komplete 3 and then try reinstalling Komplete 4, but after reading posts of peoples activations disappearing from previous installs I am weary to do so. If you or anyone else finds out where to go from here or a solution, please post or email me. All I really want is to try out the new Akoustik Piano, but updating Battery and Absynth would be nice also..
