Auto-jumping cue points - track editing a thing of the past?

So as my mixing gets more complicated, I've been liberally utilizing cue points for things like double-drops, extending and shortening tracks. I'm quite competent with my gear, but with three or four decks running, it can be a lot to handle - some transitions I've been testing lately are just not possible with only two hands.

I've been thinking of pulling these tracks into my DAW and editing them, but something occurred to me: What if Traktor contained a new type of cue point, a 'jump cue' if you will, for on-the-fly track editing? For example, when you're prepping a track, say you want to switch out the second drop for the first. You could place the 'in' of this jump-cue at the first drop, and the 'out' at the second. When the track's playhead reaches the 'in', it knows to jump to the corresponding 'out' point at the second drop and you have a seamless edit of the song. Like... thinking with portals. Two or three of these per song could help a DJ quickly create a perfect edit and have a song fit their mix flawlessly. It would, for me at least, eliminate the need to edit tracks entirely.

Has this been suggested before? Apologies if that's the case. I think it'd be a really neat feature.

Yep it has, many many times. These kind of cue points are often referred to as 'Exclusion Points'.
It's a good request and I'll let this one stand as it's been a while since anyone requested it and in such a succinct way.

I shorten my songs manually too, but having it work automatically would be great.
In live situations, sometimes being focused isn't enough.
Every now and then you end up missing the jump location.

I love the idea! I made a similar suggestion few months back.

Looks like the team over at Serato is beating Traktor to the punch. Serato Flip is looking to do exactly what we're asking for. This feature alone is a HUGE advantage over Traktor.

    a quote from DJTT:

"Remember the last time a major feature was introduced in Traktor Pro? No, unlocking Remix Deck support for all controllers doesn’t count. Neither does having a mapping window that expands when you drag the corner. Berlin’s Native Instruments has stayed relatively quiet while Serato DJ and a number of other smaller softwares have been in the limelight."

    Thanks for news, Latenite.
Wow, never imagined Serato would step their game up in such direction.
From a club dj perspective, this feature is way cooler than having the remix decks without the f1 or a maschine.
Funny thing is that some idiots will label the new feature as another cheating resource similar to syncing.
Hope NI sees what's going on and implement such awesome feature too.
I'm thrilled with the possibility of creating this sort of editing.
NI, do not let us down.

Finally I could watch a dope dj spin using Serato Flip.
It just blew my mind and made me kinda angry.
We've been requesting this feature here for quite some time and still nothing.
Some might say remix decks are cooler and do the same thing. They aren't and they don't, at least for me.
Please, NI, don't let us down.
If something similar is not included in the next version of Traktor, boy I admit I'll flip flop.

As you noticed, I did write the same thing in another thread.
Hope NI can surprise us, in a good way, very soon.

This would make my life so much easier.
One way this could be implemented would be to have "Skip" hotcues and "Catch" Hotcues. When a "Skip" hotcue is activated, when the playhead reaches it, it automatically jumps to the next active "catch" hotcue. If a "Skip" hotcue is not activated (perhaps by toggling the cue button associated with it), when the playhead reaches it, nothing happens ("Catch" hotcues could be toggled in the same way). If there are two successive "catch" hotcues, but only the latter one is activated, and the playhead reaches an active "skip" hotcue, it will jump only to the "catch" hotcue that was activated, perhaps jumping over two choruses instead of one if that's the way the cues were activated.
