    Steps to reproduce:
    1. unlock track beatgrid
    2. set autogain value
    3. lock the track beatgrid

when you reload the track the change is not applied.

This is very annoying, since I want to lock grid and autogain after I finish tuning the autogain level.

What version of traktor are you using.

Was the track loaded in a deck when you made the change. If so the change does not get applied. The tracks need to be unloaded for this method to work.

Not sure how we're expected to adjust gain of a track that's not playing.

I can confirm that autogain values can only be changed on a track that is not currently on a deck..

Not entirely true. You cannot adjust the gain value in the edit screen, but you can adjust it using the knob on the GUI. Once changed there the new value will be written back to the track when you unload it.

Not working for me. The opposite in fact.

Adjustments to the orange Gain knob are forgotten when the track is unloaded. Autogain can be modified using the Edit screen when a track is not currently in a deck, and this change will be remembered.

Edit: Seems to be working now, not sure exactly what was different last time. Locking the track after modifying the gain seems to prevent the new gain value from being stored.

That's exactly what I said, which for me is a bug. When I modify something I want to lock the change. Why is it locked to the beatgrid locking anyway, it makes no sense. This bug made me keep all my beatgrids unlocked..

I have to add my 2 cents. I don't understand why you can no longer change the autogain when the track is locked. I mean, I kind of see the general idea (it's locked so you don't have to worry you'll accidentally change it) but you have to click the button to turn it orange already - how many ppl were complaining that they were accidentally changing the autogain instead of the current gain? Now it's just less usable. Kinda sucks.

have you guys reported this bug to tech support

btw, i find the autogain lock pretty questionable. yes, it has the advantage that you cannot accidentally screw up your autogain. but the new gain system with independent channel and autogain knobs should prevent you from screwing up your autogains anyway. and the clear disadvantage of the new autogain lock is that adjusting the autogain value just got more complicated, not less complicated. and didn't they introduce the new gain system to make things easier for us?

The advantage is that you can set the gain for when Traktor gets it wrong, and save that setting for future use.

Yes, that would be nice if autogain values were saved, but I found out they are not, I must do them again on the fly on the stage compromising my work flow. When you want to be careful with peaking and don't rely on the limiter (that will reduce your dynamic range) saving your own autogain is crucial.

I hope NI fix this fast.

I found out a PITA workaround

1: unload the track from the player
2: unlock the track from the tracklist browser
3: open the edit pane and set the autogain value
    4: re-lock the track
