    Hello.
I am using an Traktor S4 and Traktor Pro 2.
The Problem is, that I apply Autogain in the Settinggs, but the Autogain dont make anything. He still dont muve a littlebit. Even if I take consciously a silent Song...it wont apply the Autogain.

    (sorry fpr the bad English)

Thanks for reading and helping me in future time. :D

Are your track analysed. Are you loading them from the collection or somewhere else?

Traktor has to analyse the files to set autogain. If you load a track into a deck and then analyse it, autogain will not be set until it is loaded into the deck again. This prevents unwanted volume jumps during operation.

    Sure Traktor is analysing them.
For example I take them from a hard drive.
Traktor ist going to analyse the song automaticly.
But Traktor wont Autogain them....as I recognized...the old Traktor Software have done it very good...and you could see that, the gain knob is turned (more to left more to right, depends on the volume of the song(I think you know what I mean, because my english is not that good^^))

have you enabled it in the option dialog box? now there is an option to enable limiter and autogain, I don't mind where, but I'm sure there is ;=)

Autogain is working fine with mp3 files, but have strange behavior with wav files. When i analyse wav file it does nothing, but analyse it again with restore autogain option, than it works.Right great have to analyse every file twice..

Thank you freshfluke for letting them know. Because it is really obvious that autogain is not working like it should. Would be great if they can fix this with the next update.

Soo guys i found the fault ;)

In the Softwares mixer you have to click on the little blue lamp right beside the gain knob. It will turn into Orange and now Autogain is set ;)

There is a bug when autogain is off:
Load a track, unload the track.
The autogain value is updated at 0db.
So if you alternate between autogain on/off , you can have some files at 0db.
Have to analyse your collection again and again.
Ticket have been send to NI but .... nothing!

If freshfluke sees that there is something wrong with autogain, there is something wrong with it. 2.5 was working fine. Why can't NI just fix what's needed to be done and leave alone things that don't need fixing...

Also I did convert to AIFF files, I still have some MP3's... I think there is an issue with autogain analyzing WAV/AIFF files...

Since the time and with a second ticket, they answered to me:
    Ticket#2012112610017793:

I see what you mean and yes the behaviour is indeed reproduced and it is by design.

I have now informed our product managers about this!

So just have to wait an update now.

yea my auto gain has been not working for a while now as well...ive had to use the trims on the mixer alot...to the point where when i load a track...i have to scrub through it to a high point just to set that gain real quick first. i even mapped a button on my maschine to turn them on/off...but still doesnt work right. I even have a couple of tracks where i have to manually turn the trim almost all the way up on the mixer....even with a decently mastered track...something is up... workarounds are a regular thing for me... so no biggie...but kind of annoying....
    ---
Ok i recant my previous statements...after actually reading and trying to fully understand the functionality of the auto gain features.

    1. with auto gain enabled(in prefs), both channel gain(blue) and auto gain(orange) are always 'on'. with the sums of both 'gains' as total dB output for that channel.

    2. and pretty much im a retard for trying to rely on auto gain using an external mixer anyways :p I just would of thought that i could set my external trim pots to one certain level at all times and having Traktor auto gain them so i could pull off such feats (which NEVER was the case anyways, with me constantly adjusting external gains anyways) just thought it was always a bug in the software.... smh i guess after 15 years of using vinyl, im just getting old and lazy ...

I haven't used 2.6 out yet, but the auto gain in 2.5 is actually quite decent, a few odd tracks maybe, but otherwise quite fine.

I don't know what using an external mixer has to do with anything

(other than making it easy to adjust levels when tracks are off)
