Automapping Source/Root relationship to Filename token such as C3

The issue: When automapping samples based on file names, Kontakt keeps the Root on C3 while moving the sample to the correct position on the map based on its file name. So a file name such as "Guitar_F5.wav" would find the sample mapped at F5 on the keyboard but its Root note would remain at C3. This means that the user must move the root note to F5, which is where the sample was originally sourced.

How this slows down the user: If for example there are 16 notes, then adjusting the root must occur 15 times and the farther the distance from C3 the more effort is required to correct the relationship between the sample and its root note. The more notes the more effort to finish mapping the samples. And the difficulty is that the mouse-based method of moving samples is repetitive and easy to **** up.

Some suggestions (that could be easily implemented and greatly improve the experience):

    My wished for solutions are
    1) offer under "Auto map - Setup" the choice to move the root note with the sample based on the file name
    or
    2) under "Auto map - Setup" allow the user to set the same file name token as both the low and high note value. Either low note or high note works now to move both sample And root value. By allowing us to use the same token (such as F5) as both high And low value, there would not be the problem of crazy overlapping note zones.

These are quick keyboard shortcut assignments that could speed up the workflow:
    3) Keyboard shortcut #1: Assign keyboard shortcut to move the root value across the keyboard after samples have been mapped. Still requires correcting each note but MUCH faster than trying to click the tiny arrows by the ROOT value in the menu or typing in the new root value which requires changing from mouse to keyboard over and over again. Up/Down Arrow, <>, etc., would really speed this up. Or allow the user to assign a hardware controller knob to the Root value and letting the user dial in the new value. Or allow the user to use the mouse wheel.

    4) Keyboard shortcut #2: Manually dragging each sample across the keyboard with your mouse keeps the sample and its root value together but on modern computer screens the sample target is pretty small (even with the mapping area detached and enlarged). How about allowing the user to click on the sample to select it and then use keyboard shortcuts to move the sample by 1) holding down the left and right cursor keys, 2) moving it with the mouse wheel, or 3) allowing the user to use their hardware controller by assigning a knob to move the selected sample left or right across the map.

    Finally, my least favorite option:

    5) Enlarge the up and down arrows by the Root value. They are just too small for today's high resolution screens and its frustrating to constantly have to readjust the cursor position because its not quite hitting the target.

I know similar suggestions come up often but they usually suggest some method of sorting by name that gets very complicated. I thought I'd make some suggestions that could really speed up our workflow by adding keyboard shortcuts which would presumably NOT require a team of programmers to accomplish nor much resources.

    Thanks.

    2) "Set to single key" option in Automap - Setup does that.

    3) You can drag the yellow key (root note) in the Mapping Editor with the mouse. Works like a charm.

    4) Use horizontal zoom +/- buttons to zoom in and suddenly the zones become wider and easier to target.

    5) Double-click then type a value in, much faster. You can both use letters (typing F#3, for example), or MIDI note numbers. Or, as said in 3), use the mouse to drag the yellow key. I do this all the time.

Load your samples to the map editor.
Select Automap set up and "set to single key"
Once the samples are automaped the key will remain C3
In Batch tools select "Move root key to lower border"
    Presto!
You'll have mapped your samples according to the file name and the correct root.

You are a genius! I was searching for hours for this, but In Batch tools select "Move root key to lower border" nailed it. Thanks a ton! :)

This method is useful to quickly create a Kontakt instrument patch from any samples of a sampled instrument, especially for the "Sample Instruments" included with some Expansions. One time effort and we can convert all the samples to playable Kontakt instruments.
