    Hi,

Just a very basic question... Can somebody help me with this?
I'm looking for a way to get panning between 4 speakers (front L, Front R, Back R, Back L). It should be possible to let the sound turn in circles and/or random.

I tried to do this with an Lfo connected to a distributor. It makes one turn, but when the LFO 'falls' down again, the sound turns in the other direction (and that is not my goal). Another important thing is that the sound has to fade from one speaker into another.
Probably there are other ways to to get this kind of 'automatic' panning. All ideas are more than welcome. As I'm trying to learn how to build with Reaktor, I guess this is the best way.

    Thanks in advance.

I think that in Core there's a Quadrature oscillator, which generates sine and cosine waves simultaneously. These are offset by 90 degrees. Invert each one and you'll also have 180- and 270-degree outputs. With these four outputs you can drive four channels.

Here's a quad panner, I think. I don't have 4 channels of output so I can't really test it. But it ought to work. Let me know if it doesn't.

hey, i made an automatic quad panner a few years ago for part of my thesis. It's pretty cool, it can make circles, figure 8's, X's, randomness, and a bunch of other geometric shapes and patterns. it's a little tricky at first, and you'll have to gut it to use it for your needs, but that shouldn't be too tough. Just press the trigger button to test it out with a sine wave loaded in there right now. Cheers!
