Hi everyone! It's good to be here learning from all of you.

I've started working with Komplete2 last December and this week I entered into the fascinating world of R5. As the Depeche Mode fan I am I feel proud to work with the same tools as they do.

The problem now is: how can I use the automation instruments with other ensembles? There are 4 different tools for automating knobs but I still can't see the point of anyone separately. What are their differences?

I very much appreciate your help, thanks a lot!

you just add the desired automation instrument to the ensemble. then you click on the "send to" drop down menu to select which parameter of the ensemble you want to automate.

automation LFO is a simple LFO which transform a parameter according to the kind of curve you choosed (sine, tri...) as opposed to the auto step LFO which do it by the steps you have previously draw. the auto draw LFO let you... draw your LFO curve.
then you have this marvellous automation envelope which let you create a multi point envelope. this is fare better than a classical ADSR !
    hope it will help :)

Good timing; go to the User Library for at least 2 simple working examples of automation just dropped into an existing ensemble within the recent posts.

These automation instruments do beg for refinement and further development; the biggest difference I’ve seen so far is that the step sequencer has no obvious way to adjust the rate except with the global bpm setting, while the draw-it-yourself LFO has detailed rate and syncing controls. Haven’t even looked at the others yet... the straight-up LFO seems too basic, while the multi-stage envelop seems too complex and fiddly, based on a quick preview in another ensemble.

My own next step will probably be to explore dropping some IC Send modules into each of the modulation tools I assembled in my FX tutorial in the UL; if that proves as easy as I expect (say’th the fool....), they should become pretty sweet all-purpose, drag-n-drop modulators. The main thing lacking from these was a comprehensive sequencer. Arturnowak’s idea of co-opting the ones in Massive is cool (there‘s like 9 separate ones in there!), but I can’t get past wanting to delete all the rest of Massive. There must be some easier to plunder sequencers about...
