Is there any way to adjust the resolution , use curves, etc? Say I am fading something in and record it , maybe I need to go back and touch it up manually. I can place nodes and try to smooth out the curve, but I can't get the nodes close enough to each other 'resolution' and I end up getting a choppy result.

 

It is governed by the grid, change teh grid resolution or turn it off entirely (Bottom left)

 

Duh, should of figured do to the equal spacing of te nodes, thanks for answering my noob questions. Can you set curves ? Or is it draw in manually only.

 

No curves or straight lines at the moment.

 

calculating the data points is elementary. maybe the use of linear equations in software user interfaces is patented. i can't think of any other reason why this much requested feature has not already been implemented. for me it's one of the great mysteries of maschine! anyways it will be a day to celebrate if it ever arrives.

 

I doubt it, and you are right, it is much requested. I guess that NI have focussed on hands-on "playing in" modulation with the controller in the first instance, but lines and curves are definitely something I would like to see. The "tooltypes" you can now select in the 2.0 automation window makes me hopeful that a line and curve tooltype will appear there in the future.
