Jeez why bother? just fire up iToonz WMP or whatever other favorite media player grabs your fancy and let it play. Why would you want a DJ program designed for a user to manipulate the music to and have the user select the tracks run on auto? especially when other applications already do it. Hmm maybe we should have MS Word do random shuffle as well?

LAZINESS. Autoplay-Shuffle is for DJs that dont actually DJ and just stand at the bar getting drunk. Autoplay function is for that quick nip to the toilet/bar and that should be that.

This is probably my own personal issue but i work at a club that has a nite where the dj plays cheesey music. Thats fine, but he doesnt mix, he barely ever changes the playlist and he stands at the bar and gets drunk whilst his terrible dj software just plays. Sometimes hes even in the pub across the road whilst his laptop plays !

I would hate Traktor to enable this kind of DJing and be used by this sort of DJ.
Even though some people will have a genuine use for it (although i fail to see it) i just dont want NI wasting time dumbing down the prog.

*must seek anger management about this* ;)

No need, it annoys the hell out of me too. People complaining -

"but why cant NI put in a simple shuffle function?""

because you already can; WITH ALL THE "ARRANGE BY" FIELDS... it takes less than a few seconds, how effing random do you want it?

A genuine randomize logarithm is sheer overkill in this situation where you can already give a playlist a completely different track order, based on nothing more than the track number/date imported/remixer artist etc, just cos you want it in one button press instead of say three, not to mention my previous post, get a fecking grip for gawd sake...

    Hi,

I'm a registered user or Traktor, and I'd also like to see a random 'Shuffle' option for Autoplay - and for Pre-Listening as well

Random shuffle should be added for an option for those who want it. For those who don't, they don't have to use it.

I DJ weddings and dinner parties as well, and oftentimes the hosts invite the DJ to sit and eat with the rest of the guests. It would definitely help to play music during dinner automatically and randomly from a playlist so you don't have to leave the table and interrupt your meal to change the song. When it comes time to dance, I do my thing and control the music manually.

Doing this all from one program would make it so much more convenient, instead of having to switch to iTunes or Windows Media Player, and without switching hardware or cables in some cases.

hey .. what do you think of this wack-eeee(e) idea.

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60046

it basically turns the preview player into a smart search engine and randomizer that finds coherant threads of music to play.

The last four lines of that post .. are.. HIlarious.. like oh my GOD such an IDEA!
