option to have it on or off and also backup the collection

 

Please Clarify what this request is.

 

you set autosave on/off and traktor saves everything without you having to explicitly save it.

if your system crashes you only lose x minutes of work.

same thing with backups - instead of each time you close traktor saving you could have an optional backup interval so that damage done with invalid collections would be limited.

 

Thats what i thought you meant.
This has been mentioned before but it is an excellent idea.

When im putting my set together i periodically Shut Down and restart to save my work. This Request would prevent having to do this.

Ill forward this , however i dont think it would be that easy to implement id like to see this on the development radar.

 

While you're waiting for this to be implemented you could just right click on the Track Collection node in the brower and click "Save Collection" once in a while.

You can even map "Save Collection" to a hot key, or even better the same key you use to "Favourites Add" or "Stop".

 

Saving the collection isnt as important to me as saying my work in playlists. I think this is also what the OP is driving at as well.

For saving work when you have imported tracks to the collection you are completely right. I think people forget that it can be done.
