is there a way to obtain a more detailed explanation of "whats new" or a 1.2 instruction manual without actually participating in the beta test?

    Yes!
I just just went through Ean's brief review on DJTT and it gave me already much more insight and allowed me to understand in much more detail what is really coming up with 1.2.

However for me the ultimate info would be a 1.2 instruction manual (if such a thing exist) Didn't native girl recently mention that she (or a dedicated NI team) started to work on a improved/revised revision of the instruction manual?
I was wondering if this activity might also involve reflecting the 1.2 version changes...

The updated manual is included with the beta app, although there are still quite a few mistakes.

so you mean i can get the manual without participating in the test?
My issue is: I do not plan to really use 1.2 right away because of two reasons:
-> I will upgrade my setup not before I exactly understand the changes (and the consequences for my setup)
-> I currently don't have the time to test and give feedback - so i would find it a little bit unfair to first "grab the beta" and then give 0% feedback***.

However, I am very curious and I really would appreciate to read the manual to start envisioning how to (really) take advantage of the changes and the (concrete) consequences for my individual setup that in the meantime has reached a "certain level of complexity" (as far as Collection and Midi is concerned)

***But if this is a misconception on my side of how the "Beta evaluation game should be played" please advise - then I'll just register and download everything.

This was just a place holder in case that further major features would make it into version 1.2. So I just removed that line - good catch!
