    Hi everybody,

today I installed my B4 and wanted to activate it in the new service center. The problem is that my serial number doesn't fit in the service center area where I must write down the serial.
My serial ends with 6 numbers.
Unfortunately I can only write down 5 numbers in the serial area.

    What can I do ?

There was no such problem with the former version of service center.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Koala72,

your version of B4 should run without an activation, but I would like to get more information about how this looks in Service Center 2:

    - I see that your serial number has a 2-5-6 digits serial format.

    - Do you see 5 times 5 serial input fields in SC or do you get three fields only?

    - Can you enter all numbers in the serial number fields or is it not possible to enter the last one?

    - When you enter the serial number on the Product Overview tab, does this work?

    Hi Marius,

    thanks for your fast reply.
I managed it now to activate B4 after a manual change of the registry. Because this is my second installation on my laptop, I checked the settings of my first installation on my desktop and added the Serial number to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\B4.
But that can't be the normal case ;-)

    To your questions:

    1) Do you see 5 times 5 serial input fields in SC or do you get three fields only?

For the B4 I see 3 input fields (as normal)

    2) Can you enter all numbers in the serial number fields or is it not possible to enter the last one?

It's only the last one. There is only a field for 5 digits. But my serial has 6 digits at the end (as you mentioned)

    3) When you enter the serial number on the Product Overview tab, does this work?

No there is also only the possibility to enter 5 digits.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lotuz,

    do it as I've done.

Go to the Windows Registry and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\B4.

There should be a key called SNO. If not then create one. There you should insert manually your B4-serial number. Then the Service Center should have registered your B4.

    Good luck

    Hi,

actually most B4 serials have only 5 digits at the end. There are some which have 6 digits, though. This has not been taken into account in Service center as it appears. However, B4 does not require a product activation, so it should even work when while it appears as not activated in Service Center.
