    B4 II v2.0.0.007 problem
I have an EMU 1212M card (latest driver installed), but also tried on my friend's EMU 1818M card and the same problem:
on a few presets there is an awful loud noise/clicks (even if I just don't play on the notes, only change to that preset)! I tried it on my laptop (there is no ASIO) and I haven't noticed this problem there. I also tried it on my EMU, but instead of ASIO, with DirectSound, and it works fine. However I need ASIO, and I think it should work. The patches (just a few example): Hi Gain, Les Cornichons, Jazz Basic, Indian Rope Man, Brians Choice, etc. (what's common in these patches??)
I also tried to set the latency, but even with the max. latency there is this problem.

    Anyone else noticed this?

I'm having the same problem with the 1212's little brother. As you say, it happens when changing presets and eventually siezes up completely. It seems marginally more stable in Cubase than as stand-alone and works fine (if slowly) using Direct X Asio. Problem has also occurred when playing with drive control within a preset. It's a shame really - I love the new sound.

Why is it I think this has nothing to do with EMU?

Yes, I believe it's not a problem with the EMU, never noticed this problem with other VSTi (and I have dozens of them). I hope NI will make a patch for this problem soon...

B4 Ver. 1 with EMU 1212 works OK -- No problems found --
Sometimes the upgrades are not always a good thing IMO

Well, I think B4 II is not just an upgrade... it's totally a new version.

I use an Edirol UA1000 USB2.0 interface, not the EMU. But what I have heard are artifacts that sound if I am holding a note or notes and change the patch. The noise goes away shortly.

i had the same thing happen tonight, a loud noise when i changed presets and program shut down. I am not sure if swell pedal and rotater switch were working before but now they dont respond if i play the lower register keys or foot pedal keys. Also the swell pedal on gui goes in the opposite direction to the direction of the actual volume pedal. This thing is very buggy! I am going back to B4 earlier version until it gets worked out.

Same problem here but I have a 1820m.
Do other soundcards have the same problem?

I have no hardware swell pedal to test.
    I hate clicks ASIO problems.

As this is only on a few presets it must be a B4II problem.
Somebody already informed tech support about this?

    Hi,

I have an EMU 1616m laptop card.

I have noticed the clicking on some patches, although I haven't tried them on my other Terratec card yet.

However this morning I was using B4II with Live 5 and using the Live browser to change the presets and it crashed the program !!

There was a similar problem with Gtr Rig. So I'm not sure if it a soundcard (Emu) or NI problem.

Frankly I am totally sick of paying for and installing buggy software !

    Hello Mr. Bungle,

please try out our support before relying on a statement made by BBB or similar companies. Expect a reply within 48 hours during buisness days when you enter a request here:

    http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=suppform_us

Unfortunately there is known problem with Emu cards concerning all our current standalone versions. Our development team already tried to address this issue but without success. Since the bug source was clearly on Emu's side and we could at this time see problems also in other applications our development team discontinued putting ressources into this bugfix in hope that a bugfix from Emu would be released soon. If Native Instruments products are really the only one making trouble, please let us know so that we might need to contact Emu directly and re-evaluate the situation.

A workaround for this problem is to install and use the ASIO4all driver which you can find here:

    http://www.asio4all.de/

This driver runs as a wrapper for almost any sound card and works fine with all our software, offering very low latencies at the same time. You can use this driver with our software and the original driver for other software. To use the ASIO4all driver after installing it you have to choose a "real" soundcard, the emu, in its control panel.

For all other issues not related to the driver, please fill out the support form. If there are preset related problems, add the affected preset number please, so that we can quickly reproduce the problem.

    Thanks for your attention.

For people with clicking on certain presets. Can you confirm this?

All presets with following setting have the click problem.

    - In Organ view - Cabinets - Microphones - Rotator.

If this setting is zero clicks start.
If I change it to non any non zero position clicking stops.

    Hello Joenco,

on the first try I could not reproduce this. I tried any preset and set the Rotator parameter in the Micrphone section to zero.

But what I found is that the amplitude is increasing when you reduce the amount of this parameter. It could be (depending on the soundcard volume setting) that the signal then is just clipping on some computers. In this case, either reduce the level of your sound card output or plugin mixer channel volume or reduce the volume parameter (swell) in the B4 software (this parameter is independent from the preset you have chosen so that you have to do it only once).

Joenco, you're great! You solved the problem (instead of NI), thanks! It was the same for me, the presets where the mic/rotator were 0 had the clicking problem.

    Hello,

I can now reproduce the crackling being a bit more quiet in the office than on friday. Yes, Joencos fix is probably the best one, if you work with a volume pedal and want to control the swell parameter. I have forwarded this problem to the product manager in charge. Jolenco, thanks for the fast solution!

I am having the same problem with B4 II -- loud pops when I change to certain presets which eventually crash the entire app. In standalone mode -- haven't tried it in VST mode yet.

HOWEVER -- I am using a Soundblaster Audigy 2 card (WinXP 2.8 HT with 1.5GB RAM) with its native ASIO driver. All other NI apps I own work fine with this setup -- definitely a B4 II thing.
