Is there a way to use these instruments in any combination at the same time? For example, Maudio's keyrig is set up so that midi channels 1-3 control each respective instrument. I would like to use, say the B4 and the Pro53 live but don't want to close out of one and open the other, and would sometimes like to play sounds from both at the same time. Is this possible? Thanks!

    Welcome :)

You can- IF your soundcard/interface has multiclient drivers, or if you use multiple soundcards. The usual stumbling block is that most soundcard/interface ASIO drivers AREN'T multiclient; that is, they can't have multiple apps accessing them at the same time.

I've got Asio4All, Soundblaster Audigy, and then the laptop soundcard, which I don't really use because I normally send out through SB Audigy. I can run Reason 3.0 and MAudio KeyRig at the same time, using separate midi controllers and channels for each. So it seems like running two of the Xpress instruments should be possible, but I don't see anywhere within the instruments themselves to select midi channels or controllers.

In standalone you can't select channels; if I remember, they're always receiving on channel 1.

All you can select in audio/MIDI settings is the port they're receiving on. And, unless you're using a multiport MIDI interface with echoing and merging (I use a Midisport 8x8 myself), you'll get a message from some apps (such as Reason) that the selected MIDI port's already in use if you try to run two apps off the same port.

OK, thanks for the response! So essentially, if I want to use them at the same time, I need to purchase a mulitport midi interface?
