because my system harddrive was dying on me, i had to replace it with a new one. i was using a clone tool to backup all my data and played it back onto the new disk.

that worked perfect for every application i have, except for the NI ones.

i had to reauthorize komplete4, which i did.

still, some of the instruments are not working.

    for example:

B4II is not starting in the hostsequenzer anymore (cubase sx3) although B4II it appears as enabled in the plugins list.

the standalone version is working normal. also the B4II FX are working in cubase.

i installed the latest B4 update, but to no avail.

does anyone know a solution for this?

    Hi,

What is reported when it doesn't start?

Are you on Mac or PC?

    Cheers

Ah Ok, try this, it may possibly work:

    Open explorer and go to

    /library/audio/plug-ins/VST

Select "B4 II FX.vst" and "B4 II.vst" right click and choose "Copy 2 items" from the menu.

    Now go to

    /yourusername/library/audio/plug-ins/VST

And paste the two files into here.

Now start Cubase, does it appear now?

    Cheers

    Andy

I haven't got cubase on this machine and must admit don't use it much but there is a plugins window somewhere that lists the plugins and any problems, have you looked at this?
    ---
Its in the menu Devices->Plug-in Information

Maybe it is disabled, there is a tickbox on the left.

    Three suggestions:

-Make sure you don't have a second copy of B4 somewhere else in your plugin-folder.

-Try moving the plugin into another folder inside the plugin-folder and start Cubase.
Will it now appear ? If so, try move it back afterwards.

-You might try deleting the Vst2Plugins.xml in the Steinberg User-content folder,
to force Cubase to initialize a new plugin scan.

I'm not on a mac, but these suggestions did help with some plugins, where I had problems with under Cubase on a WinXP machine.

Cubase has a list of plugin directories in 'Plugin Information' menu, there are also two update buttons. Ensure your dll file is in a recognised folder in the list in this window (I think you have done this), check to see its on the list and ticked. Update using the buttons, restart Cubase then it should appear in the rack. If it does not I believe that B4 2 may be corrupted. Try a wipe and re-install.
