B4II - Sonar MIDI problem

Running Sonar 7.02 with the B4II vst plugin and controlling with an M-Audio Axiom controller. Controller maps fine to the plugin without any alteration and can play the B4 like a standalone within the Sonar DAW. Problem is I get very inconsistent results when recording MIDI with this plugin to the point where it is unusable. Notes are either completly ignored or recorded with zero note duration even when holding a chord for several measures. Sustain pedal is inconsistent as well. Not having issues with other more powerful plugins. Have the latest version of B4II software (2.0.4.001) Tried all the usual stuff (reboot, restart of DAW software, remove and reinsert soft-synth, etc, etc). Any help would be appreciated.

 

It's difficult to imagine why the plug-in would affect the recording of MIDI, as I have always assumed that the MIDI recording functionality lies "above" the plug-in. Have you tried setting up another MIDI track to record the MIDI channel in question but without an output to the suspect plug-in? I know this would not solve the problem, but it might shed some light.
