    ok nice one fella.

To delete 2.5 on its own (I am on a mac) do you just remove the Traktor file as in Applications - Native Instruments Folder - Traktor 2 Folder- then move the Traktor app to the recycle bin and delete. Then use Traktor 2.1.2 from the backup folder.

Sorry for the silly questions but want to make sure I am doing it right.

That is correct, only delete the one that says version 2.5.

Also, not a massive issue, but you can delete the following preference files found in

    Mac HD>Library>Preferences

The two files you can delete are as follows, but be careful.

    com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 2.5.0.plist

    and

    com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 2.5.0.plist.lockfile

Do not delete any others especially theses files (which are very similar)

    com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 2.plist
    com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 2.plist.lockfile

Notice they only say "Pro 2" and do not refer to the version, this contains your serial and activation key.

If your not confident deleting the 2.5.0 files, then just delete the App in NI>Traktor 2.5>Traktor App (2.5.0)

Also, delete the settings folder "Traktor 2.5.0" in Documents>Native Instruments.

Hope this is detailed enough :)

    +1 for going back. Reasons:
    1) weird popping issues with keylock (external audio, 96000Hz, ~512 samples buffer), but did not change much after going to 88200 Hz and even larger buffer
    2) annoying CPU usage when moving cues using key shortcuts - 2.1.3 was smooth as silk, 2.5.0 starts 'hiccuping' (audio unaffected, but waveforms suffer), moving is jumpy.
These 2 are enough to get me back.

Ive gone back to 2.1.2 but leaving 2.5 on my machine for the beat gridding and bpm detection (which is very good). Pops and funny artefacts in tracks were doing my head in. I was beginning to think my MP3's were dodgy until I came here to see what how other users were getting on with their updates.

Going back to 2.1.3 #1 cuz all the bugs that everybody else have.. and #2 cuz the way the sample decks behave dont fit what i really want in my sets.. before the 2.5 we could trigger single samples without having to mute or unload the rest of samples.. with 2,5 i just didnt find a way to trigger just 1 sample slot.. there are no independent "play/stop" buttons.. it just doesnt work for me that way... maybe im wrong and there is a play/stop button but i didnt see it at all.. =/ =/

Which is widely considered the most reliable version of TS Pro? 2.1.3, 2.1.2 or 2.0.3?

I`ll go as well back to 2.1.3.

    2.5 issues for me was:

    - at the beginning: not possible to close traktor...total crashes
(strange ****: repairs itself like magic. after two days without any change (!) disappeared.

    - key lock: as soon as this is switched on and you touch a jog wheel (even for searching in tracks for cue points that are NOT running) -> load goes to red, audio drop outs. without key lock no more problems.

    - audio freezes: I noticed a few times some strange audio freezes. you touch nothing and in the middle of a track the audio goes to silence for 2-5 seconds and come back itself.

    - GUI flickers: every few minutes the complete GUI flickers a little (looks like pressing refresh in a web browser) no sound issues, traktor runs normal, but total anoying if it is a little dark in the room

today was the point I went back to 2.1.3...

starting traktor....traktor KILLES the complete collection with the short comment (invalid). each playlist gone to hell, have to reanalyse the whole collection.
even the backup is destroyed. (playlists visible, but empty!)

thanks god that I have another complete mirrow on a secondary external HDD.
but I will not connect this at any price due to my experience today.

    what I`ll do now is:

complete new setup of laptop. (to assure that it is TOTAL clean from 2.5)

I`ve started to do the following:
new installation of laptop -> system snapshot on external drive with 100& clean OS
install 2.5 and make an analyses, as forced to, for the complete collection
(To have an option to test further)
install 2.1.2 on another image and use my backup HDD to prevent a new analysis

    why I did it?

    smart simple:
2.5 is impossible to use on gigs, therefore the 2.1.3 installation
NI will need experience with 2.5 to fix the issues, therefore I keep a total clean installation to give them the best possible purity in log files or whatever

I need to role back to 2.1.3 and basically start from a clean install.

I can only seem to find the upgrade install for 2.1.3 but not the full install. How can i get the full install for 2.1.3

I basically had problems with 2.5 and did a complete un install and now i need a full install of 2.1.3

When you installed 2.5 a backup of 2.1.3 was created just uninstall 2.5 and delete it's root folder, then look for the 2.1.3 icon in Program files/Native Instruments/Traktor 2/Backup.

I also need to roll back but did a complete removal of 2.5 and deleted all NI files.

I thought the file supplied was a full install but its really an update. How do i get a full install to get me back to 2.1.3?

Has anybody gone back to 2.1.3 successfully? I don't want to kill my whole collection.

    ---
Does anybody have an S4? Has anybody tried just rolling back the S4 driver?

I noticed 2.5.1 installed a new driver for S4...and I got audio drops and pauses of course....so I went back and installed the 2.9.8 S4 driver afterwards (which never gave me audio drops, newer versions of the S4 driver did) but while still running the Traktor 2.5.1 software....so far no drops....but will continue to monitor things.

I hate how the samples don't deactivate automatically in Traktor 2.5.1 like before, now I have to double-tap to re-trigger a sample....Fix this NI!

I like 2.1.3. if 2.5 would've worked better on the mac i would've had to pick up the F1. I am slightly tempted to do the update to see if its any better or just that my mac cant handle it.
