I really love Absynth but I've always been a bit confused by the locations of files and folders used by the program. Last week my motherboard died so I'm going through the extremely painful process of setting up my system again.

I was on Win 7 and now on Win 10 but I can still access my fully working old system on my new motherboard so can access all previous files/folders/templates/samples etc.

I've freshly reinstalled Abysnth on Win 10 and ideally I'd like to just copy over my old files overwriting the default ones so that the library is exactly the same as it was before (I'd deleted a lot of existing sounds as I never used them and added some custom ones and purchased libraries).

There seems to be Absynth files all over the place, e.g.

    C:\Users\,my account>\Documents\Native Instruments\Absynth 5
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples
    C:\Users\<my account>\AppData\local\Native Instruments\Absynth 5

Think there might be others but I don't know if some of these are aliases used by Windows (never really understood differences in roaming/appdata/document locations etc.)

Can someone please clarify what are the specific locations and files that I need to copy/overwrite (e.g. samples/database settings etc)?

Thank you, I think I've managed to do it.

So much to reinstall - I seriously need to go for a long walk in the woods right now!

Man, I hate computers this week!
