I've had a similiar thing happen - I just unplugged the X1, replugged it, and closed/re-opened Traktor, which fixed the problem

Upgrade your software. 1.2.4 is not the latest version. This may be why you are having problems. Also, go into Preferences, go down to Traktor Kontrol X1, then make sure that the "Off-State Brightness" is not set at zero. I have mine set at 10%...

Im having same problem. Got version 1.2.6. Backlight settings are fine. This only happened after i updated the service centre.

    Any ideas on a fix?

Installed the 1.2.7 update and re-installed all drivers. Backlights are now all working again. Hope this works for you.

Have you tried re-installing the drivers? This is what worked for me.

basically, just downloading the driver again and installing them over the ones that are already in place?

    yes, i've done that twice.

When I first had the problem I contacted support. I have still not heard back but. If they get back to me with a fix, I will post it here. I know how annoying this problem is!

you need to use the right combination of Program versions.

BOTH, Traktor (you need 1.2.7) and Controller Editor (1.3.2) NEED to be updated to
    the latest versions.

    Best regards

    still no response from NI
I've decided to go back to 1.2.6, and everything works fine now.
I'll better wait for proper update or any reaction from NI.

hmmm, go back to 1.2.6 eh? i'm going to give that a try. basically just go to the download center and install 1.2.6? i don't need to do anything else to downgrade do i? on a mac, do i need to uninstall 1.2.7 1st or can i just install 1.2.6 over it?
