I just got Bandstand to use in Logic 7.2 on an Intel Mac, and Logic doesn't recognize the plug-in. Is there something wrong with me or with the program? If there is a simple fix I'd love to get it....thanks

Question: I have just purchased the "non Intel-Mac" version of Bandstand. I am looking at buying a Mac sometime in the future when I start exceeding the capacity of my current one. Will I be able to download an upgrade to my current version of Bandstand to the Intel-Mac version so if I were to buy an Intel-Mac I could still use the program?

    I just saw this---
"Please note that the "Universal Binary Grace Period" began on September 12th, 2006. Anyone activating one of the listed products for the first time after this date will be able to download the Universal Binary update for free as soon as it becomes available. Other registered users will be able to purchase and download the updates from the NI Online Shop for € 25 / $ 29."

I purchased my copy of Bandstand in the first month of its release. I have yet to be able to use it. There was supposed to be an update available for those of us who were having problems and now it seems it was rolled into the Intel Mac update. It really does not seem fair to me to ask me to give NI more money when my initial investment has not yet brought me any joy.

On the other hand, I purchased SampleTank 2XL some time ago and they released a free update which is working great with my Macbook Pro. Customer service is a major factor in my decisions for future investment in music software.

Is this story true? It would be completely unconscionable -- as if the year-long delay weren't bad enough. (Is there ANY software company, except for Adobe, and they only with Photoshop, that has been this slow about recognizing the current Mac reality?)

I haven't looked at this list for a while because, not being able to use the program I was stupid enough to buy, I had no need. I thought I'd come back and see whether I could rethink Bandstand. If the policy stated here is a real one, it's time to rethink, all right -- I'll begin loudly bad-mouthing NI on every forum I inhabit (which is quite a few), and I invite every other music-on-the-Mac user to join me.

Perhaps the outrageous idea of an upgrade fee is moot anyway: As far as I can tell, NI *still* hasn't got programmers who are capable of doing an Intel Mac port.

    Tell me I'm missing something.
