According to the Apple release notes for the OSX verson 10.4.8 upgrade, substantial speed enhansements were included for projects running under Rosetta, especially those that used DSP libraries. I read on one of the OSX dedicated forums that Photoshop speed had actually improved on the Mac Pro to near native levels under Rosetta after applying this upgrade.

So, I decided to give Bandstand standalone a try running under Rosetta with OSX 10.4.8 on my Mac Pro. It now works very well! No audio drop outs, not problems at all even with 16 instruments loaded and reverb and chorus applied. To say the least, I was quite surprised.

If this is an indication of things to come when the UB version of NI's software is released, I hope they get those UB versions out soon!

Now that Kontakt UB is out I would expect some statement as to when Bandstand is due. But I am beginning to subscribe to the theory, stated elsewhere in the NI Forum, that NI seem to be lacking in developers with UB experience. This seems to be backed up by the amount of bugs that the recently released apps are demonstrating.
It would be good to hear something from the moderaters.
