I have a bunch of (as in over 4000) Kontakt instruments in NKI format with samples. Instead of having NKI files and WAV sample files I'd rather all the instruments to be monoliths. Instead of loading each instrument individually and then manually saving each as a monolith, is there a way either within Kontakt or with an external program to just batch convert all the instruments to monoliths? Doing them all one by one would take weeks if not months.

I've tried Extreme Sample Converter, Translator, and CDXtract, but none of them seem to be able to do it. Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

Well, if they're able to be loaded and saved individually as monoliths then it makes no sense why there isn't a way to do it in a batch operation. Seems like a no brainer that they wouldn't include this in the application itself.

There isn't a way to do it using Kontakt, but I've done similar things using an automation utility. I will submit this as a feature request though -- it would definitely be a handy thing to build into a future version of Kontakt.

If you're talking about a macro recorder then that's what I ended up using. That idea didn't occur to me until you mentioned it but then again I've never used a macro program before so that's probably why I didn't think of it. It's not a fast process, but it'll get the job done and is a heck of a lot easier than doing it one by one.

Hi, what is your solution? Can you give me a hint how to do that? Which macrorecorder do you use?
    Thanks!

I personally use iKey from Script Software. It's pretty cheap and good at what it does. There's also QuicKeys, and a few other similar packages. Basically, you program them to do precise mouse movements, keystrokes, and menu choices. It is a "dumb" utility -- meaning it will only do what you tell it and won't know if it does something wrong. For example, if you tell it to click at mouse location {x,y} which you intend to click Button A, it'll do that, but if the next instrument doesn't have Button A at the same location {x,y} then the automation utility won't realize that -- it'll click in that exact screen location.

So you have to do a bit of preplanning to know how to work with it.
