Batch rename files (useful for beatport downloads)

I was surprised to find that Beatport has a really odd naming convention for the files that you download. While some people may just use the Traktor track browser or iTunes to browse through their files, I find having appropriate, clear file names that I can sort using Windows Explorer to be essential. Which is why I looked around for this freeware utility:

Basically, you can use it to batch rename your files. It'll strip information from the id3 tag and then use it to name the file in whatever format you find most useful. I thought it was pretty cool, so I wanted to share it with you guys

 

I use "MP3 tag tools" to edit MP3 tags and rename files accordingly (I too like to have things searchable in Explorer).

MP3Tag all the way. Can batch rename file accourding to their tags and much more. Mighty tool.

 

Anyone got any they can recommend for Mac OSX? I've got a bunch of CD rips I did way back that I would love to get in the proper tag format.

I've had no problem using MP3 Tag with Traktor.

 

this was a while back and may have been with 2.6 version...can't recall anymore but thre was an issue.
