    Hi all,

As promised, we bring you the BATTERY 2.1 update just in time for the holidays.

    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?battery2updates_us

The BATTERY 2 team and Beta testers took a lot of care to bring you the best BATTERY version to date. When you look down the many new features and improvements, you will notice that we listened closely to your feedback after the BATTERY 2 release only 2 months ago. We were also able to once again reinvent ourselves with the new import browser. Check it out! More details in the manual addendum and the library update...

    - DFD - Direct from disk streaming with additional extension from our website
    - In-kit preview
    - Output configuration
    - RTAS Mac multiple outs
    - MIDI CC automation
    - Improved host automation
    - Improved import browser
    - Improved REX import
    - Improved library path handling
    - Option to trigger a cell with a given velocity value
    - Option to define a default kit at startup
    - Option to show or hide the path in open recent and in waveform display

Plus: 13 new "All" kits, each of which is built from samples of a particular instrument type. If you're looking for the perfect snare drum for example, you can use the "All Snares" kit to browse up to 72 of them at once, in a single kit.

We are confident that there is something for everyone in this release and that this rounds up the product in terms of completeness, usefulness, usability, and reliability. We hope that you enjoy this update as much as we did making it! Please let us know your thoughts as always.

Wishing you and yours happy holidays,
    The BATTERY 2 Team

    Thanks

    Thanks a lot,

Installed it, no problems so far. Cool, the output configuration. Re- doing my templates now :). Cubase SX3: making multimiking kits use different outputs + color coding, nice. Very nice also I can choose all stereo outputs for this purpose too.

Waiting also for DFH1 to arrive at my dealer.

Did I mention I am extremely pleased with the old jazz kit? Been looking for a kit like that a long time. Was going to sample it myself. You guys did the work for me, thanks. Works like a charm.

Do you just install the update, or uninstall first?
The reason I ask is because other NI updates have installed twice when doing an "update"

    thanx

    Hi Dippy,

Please go ahead and install the update on top of the existing installation. This is the way we intended it to work.

    Enjoy,
    Markus

Thanks! This update is quite nice.

Just one question: When can we expect multiple outputs for RTAS on PC?

    Hi there,

We can only be as good or stable as the host environment allows at any given time. At this point, the PC RTAS multiout support did not yet meet our quality standards.

The next time we are working on an update we will check back with the then current state of ProTools.

    Best,
    Markus

    New kits

Where do the new kits get installed on Mac OS X? I've applied the update and cannot see any of the new "all ..." kits.

    Well done.

Battery 1 was awsome, but Battery 2 is exceptionnal and this update is great.
Now I don't know if I am just lucky, but I did not have one problem with any of these installs.
I am using Cubase SL 2 on a PC and everything works smoothly.

    Keep it up.

    Hi all,

The new kits are installed relative to your current library location in the Options dialog. You will find the All kits in ..\instruments\6 - All Kits and in the Libary Fast Find section.

Please note that changing the library location is now just a matter of changing the path in the Options dialog. You don't have to worry about special files or subfolders any more.

It's great to get positive feedback! Keep it coming :)

    Best,
    Markus

First, thanks very much for getting this update out so quickly!

This was the one feature I was anxiously awaiting in this update, so I am bummed. It also appears from your note that you don't consider this a high priority issue.

Concerning quality, I can consistently crash Pro Tools when pressing the bypass button in the RTAS version of B2; then the system requires a reboot. This is using the 2.1 update on PC Pro Tools TDM 6.7. There are some other strange things I'm seeing where it gets into a state and no sound is produced. I never saw any of these problems with the previous version of PC RTAS B2. Yikes.

Maybe there is a hidden and deeper bug that is masquerading as a multiple output instability issue in PC Pro Tools. :)

Battery is an awesome product! I just hope you can fix these remaining issues sooner rather than later, and make us PC Pro Tools users as happy as the rest of the folks here.

I got my Komplete Care package on my doorstep the same day as the Battery 2.1 update was released! In addition, I didn't know the Battery2 disk was actually inside the Care box (i figured it would arrive later as a separate shipment). So you can imagine my surprise and pleasure when I unexpectedly had Battery2 up and running, fully updated and sounding great within no time (with NO problems with either the install or either plug-in).

This is a fantastic upgrade and a wonderful update. It sounds great and feels good. It integrates into my studio easily. I use V-Drums and I love the way many kits are ready to go when you load them (and easy to tweak, if not).

I couldn't be happier with NI. Thanks guys!

Great update NI! It makes Battery one of the best drum samplers all around. I was using the exs for drums cuz of the in-kit preview but now Battery has all that and it's more convenient to export the soundbanks. All the things that pissed me off in the other samplers are included in Battery!

    Great and thank you again!

Yes, thanks NI - a great update. I was very impressed with the new library in B2 and agree with pego about the jazz kit. I'm relatively new to Battery (one of the unexpected bonuses of Komplete 2), but am starting to use it for all my drum sounds.
