I can't see the wood for the trees.

I have a midi track in Cubase, triggering a drum kit in Battery. That part is fine.

I want to record the movements of the compression gain fader for a Battery cell. This is where I get lost.

Is the gain fader movement recorded as part of the midi track? So far nothing I've tried has resulted in a recorded automation track.

Any Cubase users can help? Or maybe point me to a tutorial?

    Much appreciation. Thanks.

You need to right click your knob/slider that you'd like to automate and assign it to an automation slot. This is the same way Kontakt works, if you are familiar with that.

Many thanks for the tip CyanDragonfly. I'll try to find some info on how assignments are done in Kontakt. There's not a lot of in-depth in the Battery info about that particular subject.
