im running battery 3 (with all updates) though cubase LE ..when i create drum parts with lots of lenthly samples (i.e. crash cymbols) the cpu usage goes above 100% the whole track slows down to about 20 bpm or something ridiculous like that.. if it doesnt slow down then some notes are missed!

Its so annoying cause I cant quite tell if a drum pattern fits the music.. unless I mix down the solo drums and listern to the audio track instead of the MIDI track.. but thats a heck of a long way of doing it!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any computer pros in that know how 2 minimize cpu usage?

OK... some things you can do.

    1) turn off speedstepping in your BIOS
    2) have your power scheme in Windows (control panel/power options) set to always on

Also, I'd advise getting more RAM; 512 MB is definitely a minimum. 1 GB is OK, and 2 GB's even better.

Hello thedoncrawley, I just saw your message and this is something that always helps the CPU drain when running Battery 3. When looking at Battery's main screen there is a CPU percentage right below the main stereo bus bar. Next to the CPU percentage, on the left, there is a window that displays how much RAM the current drum kit is eating up. Once you have programmed all the sounds that you are using click on the arrow in the window next to the CPU percentage and click on "update sample proof". This concept works well when I am using just a hand full of sample's of one particular kit.

    2.16 GHz MacBook Pro
    2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Mac OS 10.4.11

    Battery 3.0.4.001
    Kore 1.1.0.006
    Spektral Delay 1.6.0.011
    Traktor Scratch 1.2.0.010
    Traktor DJ Studio 3.3.2.060
    Ableton Live 6.0.10

thanks for the tip.. i am using quite a pretty large kit, if i can filter out what im not using on each track that may free up a bit of processing power!
