Hi i've been using battery 1 for a long time with Logic 5.51 on the PC.

I've just started using Battery v3 but can't work out how you get it up as a multi instrument??
I know how to set up each cell to a differn't audio output and
and how to set up the number of stereo / mono outs!!

But in logic when I select an instrument channel Battery 3 is not listed as a multi channel instrument, so i can assign the differn't audio out puts to audio channels in logic.

    Please help

Can anyone help with this or am i facing the fact that native instruments no longer support logic 5.51???

Any one had similar issues with Cubase??

I don't use Logic, but I think I'm right in saying multi channel works fine in Logic 7.x (I remember a thread about implementing it, either here or maybe on the Apple Logic forums), and it's fine for me in DP5 and Cubase SX3.

I'd think this would be down to Logic 5 not being able to implement it, though if Logic 5 can implement multi's from other VST's, then not sure what that would imply.

Far as I can recall, it was Battery 2 that implemented multis from NI's side, and there was a period when I was running B2 within VST Wrapper in order to get multi outs to DP, before NI brought out a B2 update that allowed B2 multi outs via AU. And I'd guess Logic was already at 7.x when NI were working on this.

Think you might have to upgrade Logic ...

edit: AH! Just remembered, of course you can't on PC now ! :-(
    switch to Cubase ? $$$ ! :-(

Not to mention that NI officially dropped support for Logic on the PC for their new releases a couple years ago...

Re: How to use Battery 3 as a multi instrument in logic

In Logic 7 on the Mac ... create an Audio Instrunent track and insert a Multi-channel instance of Battery in the Input field. In "File>Options" (Battery) select 1 stereo output and as many mono outs as you need. The stereo out feeds the Audio instrument output. Select each cell you wish to direct out of the mono outs and assign an output channel (eg "M3") under "cell>output". Now, in the environment create as many new Aux audio objects as required mono outs. Each individual battery mono out can now be selected for each Aux object in its input field.

I have the same problem. The funny thing about it is, that it worked once after updating B3 to the latest version.

In my Autoload-Song in Logic 5.5.1 I changed the B2 channels to B3, including the multi-outputs (2 stereo and 12 mono). Everything was working and I saved my changed Autoload-song with B3.

Two days later and ever since, when I open Logic and the Autoload song, it says "Battery 3 of type 1-0 not available" (whatever "type 1-0" may mean) and Batterya 3 appears crossed out in the mixer/environment channels.

The NI support told me to erase the Battery 3.cfg file in the plugins folder, but that doesn't help. Logic always creates a new .cfg file.

In the Logicuser forum (German language) somebody says to erase the Battery 3.dll too and run the installer again.
    http://www.logicuser.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=32143&p=276275&hilit=battery+3#p276275

Now I'm wondering if I can run the Update installer (I think 3.02) or do I have to install from CD again and update afterwards? Also, can I re-install B3 without installing all the Gigas of library again (the library is already on my HD)? Or is it better to de-install B3 first before re-installing? In this case the same question about the library.
