    Hello everyone!
I had Batt3 and Cubase Studio 4 working together for about 4 months. Last sunday, when I wanted to start up a tune, it just closed with no warning. The second time i started it up, everything went fine BUT Battery 3 wasn't anymore there. After several tries, i deinstalled Batt3 and reinstalled it again (did the same with cubase studio 4) 2 times. Put the dll-file in VSTPlugins of cubase and same problem. Batt3 is not recognized. I bought other synths just this week and with those, everything in cubase is working fine. I also have absolutely no error message or anything. Does anyone know what this could be?? Thanks for help, need it badly as I want to make music....Daniel

Welcome to the club. If you search my name for entries in this forum you will see my experiece with Battery 3 and Cubase 4 since last October. Battery 3 runs occasionally but it depends on the alignment of the moon to the rabbits running around in my yard. A project with Battery 3 will open one day and the exact same project will not open the next day. Reinstall all you want and it won't make a difference. NI is releasing new products left and right but it has been over six months Battery 3 (I'll be kind and call it early Alpha version) has been available and not a thing (fix release) from the company. By the way, how about all those new "features" that DO NOT WORK.

    Very unstable for sure.

I just got Battery 3 last night. Installed it to my Cubase4 system, and upon creating the virtual instrument, the first thing it did was lock up my system for about 2-4 minutes. I thought it was dead, but I could see that the Cubase process was using the CPU so I waited.

Eventually it "woke up", but then Battery froze for another 10-20 seconds or so upon the first click to it. The whole product appears very unstable IMO. Playing samples from the electrolatino bank actually caused a crash of Cubase.

I restarted Cubase after each crash and usually managed to get Battery up and running again, but frankly, I expected the software to be a lot more solid than this. I don't know what they're doing that's causing the loads to be so slow and the system to become unstable, but clearly this isn't usable software- especially for creative people. Why would I want to use a product that could trash all my work at any moments notice?

BTW, I'm using all the updates for both Cubase and Battery. NI really needs to put their product in a debugger and find all these crashes and lockups. I realize this is a brand new release of the product, but geez, didn't you guys even QA this thing?

I read somewhere about removing a space from the DLL which I haven't tried, although I fail to see what difference that should make (unless the code is THAT badly written that it matters).

I also use Kontakt 2 and Ozone which don't exhibit any behavioral problems.

Has NI said anything about all these problems yet? Something like "We're sorry, we're fixing them now"?

    Update

As posted in another thread, I talked yesterday to a guy at the swiss distribution of NI, and he told me, that they know about the problems and an update is in work. no timeline, but hopefully it'll be closer to yesterday than tomorrow....I really love the features of B3 and the sounds are very cool, but with an unstable program as it is at the moment, it is hardly possible to make music. For the wait, i'll look around for another drumsynth. Cheers, Daniel
