If anyone here is running the Battery 3 Universal Binary in OS X on an Intel Mac and would like to share their experience I would appreciate it. I am considering purchasing it to use the AU with Logic Pro 7. Just wanting to get some real world feedback on it before taking the plunge!

    Thanks....

Stability seems fine although I have an issue where it is not finding the samples of some of the kits even though i have just installed the software. You cant just show it the folder you have to do each sample individually so unless there is an easy fix I won't be using those kits until NI has a fix.

    ?

First of all, is the proper path to your library the path shown in the options menu? If not, correct it.

If you still have the problem of not finding samples, when the prompt and the list of samples come up, click on the "search file system" right below the list. ALL the samples will be found and loaded, provided your path is correct in the options menu. After the samples are found, save the kit.

yeah, i got it working. the install is a little weird. So it installs the kits but then you have to copy the samples off of a second DVD which I didn't realize was included. Everything is working now although it was frustrating at the time. Actually the kits sound great. No problems with stability noted. Will try as plugin to DP 5.1 later today.

Good info, looking forward hearing how it well it runs in your host. I've always found NI's stuff to run better as a standalone than in a host DAW. I'm hoping that it's not the case anymore. Thanks!

    ?

How could you not notice the second DVD?

As the library's close to 12 GB, it should be obvious that there's multiple DVDs. Also, the readme (always select to read the readmes at the end of the install) specifically mentions how to install the library.

Anyways, glad you got it working :)

I was in a hurry and its one of those single sized DVD cases with the under-tray that swings out to reveal the second DVD. As far as readmes go, my policy has always been play first, ask questions later ;)

You're right I should have noticed due to the library size but work requires me to be sharp enough where I have to allow myself a certain amount of stupidity on the weekends.

Been working with Battery over the past 2 days in Logic on Intel Mac, again, no problems so far, very stable as a plug in.

I´ve had several HangUps while using Battery 3. I use it as a Stand-Alone-Application with my Roland TD-6 E-Drum.
Using Drum-Samples with up to 1GB for one Set makes Battery 3 (and/or the MacBook) stumble.

    System:
MacBook, 1,8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Mac OSX 10.4.8, Tapco USB.Link Audio Interface

    Rainer,

i was posting in your other thread about the hihat issue. you'd seemed to have that worked out... is there more issues? if so, describe this "stumble" issue in a little more detail.

    Hi!

With the Original Battery-Samples you don´t have to worry. Everything is fine here.

I have used the BFD-Samples (which are pretty high quality for acoustic drumsounds) to create my own high-end-kits. Setting the latency to 5ms to have a acceptable live-performance.

With the BFD-Samples a complete Kit reaches round about 1 GB. And with these Settings I´ve had some lacks in the performance.

So, the next thing I wanna look at, is how I can reduce the size of a .wav-file without loosing too much quality.

What worries me more are the random hang-ups which occur sometimes in Battery 3.

Battery 3 works fine for me.
I have a new Intel mac 20" with 2 GIG Ram and Logic Pro 7.2.3.

I like the Rex and Apple Loop Feature.

I Got Battery3 Last Weekend And,i Use A Intel Duo Core Mac And That Plugin Hangs Like Micheal Jordan In The Air Upon Launching In Logic 7.2.2 And It Takes Forever Just Load Up In Stand Alone Mode And Seems To Not Want To Open My Rex Files Either.now,i Got Fxpansion Guru And Had It For A While It Has Never Hang Like That In Standalone Or Plugin Mode And Its The Ub Beta Verision And ,i Brought Battery 3 Because Any Sound Can Be Assigned To Cut Each Other Like A Mpc And On Guru It Can't Only The Same Color Or Itself.but,i Have A Very Fast Computer And Battery 3 Seems Slow And Need's Another Update Immediatley.

yes, i relate to what the person before me said.

I've now been playing around with Battery 3 for maybe some hours and it's crashed so many times! I mean, it causes my Logic to lock up so that I always have to go for force quit it if I want to quit it.

    I have a 2Ghz Intel-based Macbook with 2GB ram.
I use Logic Express 7.2 - it's never crashed before so I dare blame Battery on this one.

One thing that WILL make it all crash is when I select all sample cells and adjust some parameter, so that its affecting all cells when i do the tweak.
CPU load hits over 100% and I get a bad lockup and my Macbook fan goes wild.

    Damn!

I have an Intel Mac with the latest Logic updates too; atm there are no Battery updates available.
And yes, this is a legal copy I've paid for and registered for myself.
