Sometimes, I get rid of samples in my custom kits, but the samples never actually leave the folder of that kit. This is absolutely ridiculous. I might load a huge kit, customize it, save it for later, and then gut the kit by 20 or 30 mb's. But what's the point when it doesn't actually free up space on my hard drive? That crap still stays in the folders! This is ridiculous. Please tell me there is some easy method for freeing up wasted space. I might have a terabyte of space, but I don't want Battery wasting it all. Thanks for any tips.

Try saving the gutted kit to a new name or location (patch+samples). It will only save the samples that are still referenced in the kit. Then just trash the old kit+samples directory.

I concur with dm_spire....However i wouldn't trash the old kit and samples directory.

Someday you might like to use some of that stuff....or your kids will.

I always save the kit I'm using for a session within the session folder (kit and samples) as the kits are not that big and if you take your session to another studio you can work like you want to work without having to make concessions/compromises.
