Battery 4 and MK3

I thought I could figure this one out but I'm struggling here, no lack of internet search effort... I have a Battery kit loaded on pad 1, for sound 2 I have the input coming from Battery kit channel 2 for the audio, and default source channel 2 for the midi. For the sound output I have the dest. as the Battery kit, and the channel as 2. I go into battery and change each output to the corresponding channel on each pad. However, all of my pads keep playing the sound that is on the master output in Battery. I've watched that maschine masters tutorial probably 10 times, and every time he opens the mixer in the same setup he plays the next pad in Battery. I don't get what I'm doing wrong, any insight is greatly appreciated!

 

You must transpose the midi note of each pad in the midi settings so they trigger the desired cell in battery
