    Hi Members,

Is it possible to make in Battery 4 a sample time offset?
For a example I load 3 samples into Bank A.
My wish now is being able to have an offset or a pre/-after start for sample 2 or at least for Bank A.
The intention behind: sometimes it sounds better when a sample starts to play sooner or later.

Is it possible? Please don't judge me :) I'm a beginner with battery 4.

    Much Love,
    Soulution

It is not possible in a practible way: You can achieve it with the internal delay or you re-record the sample with an offset. Or you can make a short loop before the sample start a.s.o. but an offset, a feature I would also like, is not possible.

Hi, there - To elaborate this is kind of possible without too much hassle.

    - Select your drum sample and go into the editor page.
    - Select the sample and reverse it.
    - At the beginning of the now reversed sample. select a small portion and make it silent.
    - Then select the sample again but not including the silent part you have now created at the start, and reverse it back.
    - Now you have a small area of silence at the start you can use to manipulate the start point of the sample. :)

Not amazing but a good workaround.

Or nudge the notes on the piano roll back or forward :)

There's a hacky thing you could do:

    1. Route the cell to an output that is not routed anywhere (say 31/32)
    2. Bump up the delay send level for that cell
    3. Set delay on Master tab to 1% feedback, no damp, no pan, and time and return level to taste.

Here you have your sample delayed.

But you can not have it to play early this way can you?

You cannot play a sound any earlier than you hitting a key, that breaks the laws of physics :)

Of course not :) But there are sounds with pre hit material like dense claps where you want to align the peak point to grid so the sample should start a bit earlier. So one way to do this is to nudge the notes to left a bit on the piano roll or you can use the DAWs track/region delay function where you can apply negative delay.
Avenger has this function on it's drum section where you can make the notes start earlier by adjusting the sample delay with negative values. So even though the notes are dead on grid they start earlier so the peak part aligns with the grid. But of course this works on it's own sequencer :)
Since there is no sequencer in Battery this method makes no sense for it :)

Yeah you cannot do that in Battery, unless as you mentioned, you compensate with negative delay in your DAW.
