I'm a complete noob to computer based home recording. Current Setup

    - Cubasis VST
    - Midi Controller

So I wanted to start adding some drums with better samples (Drumkit from Hell etc). I understand that I need to get a program such as Battery to do this.

I've spent the last few days playing with the demo, and I just have a couple of questions regarding how what I've been using (and liking) translates to the full version..

    - How do my drum tracks get out of Battery and into my sequencer?
    - Is it in the form of an output for my midi within cubasis?
    - Do I record whole drum tracks within Battery and then export?
    - If the latter is true, can I still go back and edit my midi input later as I would with a midi file?

Thanks for your replies, sorry for the dumb noob questions, but at least this shouldn't be too taxing for you experienced users to answer :)

As far as I am concerned you will NEVER have a drum track in battery. The track will always be located with-in your sequencer which in turn triggers Battery. I am talking of a MIDI track here.

Battery just has MIDI inputs (16 channels) and several Audio outputs which are routed back to your sequencer if it is used as a VST plug-in. I don't know if and how Cubasis handles Audio...

    Hello fear-S,

I am a moderator at Toontrack(DFH) more than glad to give assistance. :)

-Your tracks are in your sequencer as a midi file, Battery is the VST that produces the drum sounds that you would hear.
    -Your output is through Battery.
-You record whole drum tracks in Cubase with a keyboard or midi edit or drum edit. DFH multiformat supplies kits for Battery and numerous midi files for your DAW(Cubase,etc..)
-You can ALWAYS go back and edit your midi files in Cubase.

Battery and DFH1 is a PERFECT combination!
