I am running Pro Tools LE 6.4 on Windows XP laptop and I see that battery does not work as an RTAS plug-in on Windows XP systems. Will there be an update to make this work in the near future?

it is my understanding that there isn't an rtas version of battery. i myself have this problem. i'm using PTLE 6.1.1 with Mbox on a PC, and i just got a copy of battery. to get it to interface with PT i downloaded a program called bidule, and i can get it to open up battery as a plug in that way, but i'm not getting any sounds out of battery.

if i open battery as stand alone, i can get sounds, but that's not what i want hahaha...

i guess i'm just really adding to your question here, but i'm rather confused as what to do. i know i need to use something to trigger battery, but i'm not even sure if i have it set up correctly with this software.

can i use midi notes in PT to trigger battery? all the drums i have been doing have been through reason adapted, would it be possible to use those patterns to trigger battery and then record that into PT?

    help please, much confusion!

if anyone is familiar with using battery in this way, could they please reply or shoot me an email at deadheabender@hotmail.com ?

    thanks!

If you are able to open up battery as a plug-in in Pro Tools try creating a new MIDI track and assigning the MIDI output to battery. Then you can draw in MIDI notes with the pencil tool. That's one-way Pro Tools lets you play software instruments. Where did you get the bidule program? I'd like to try that. I hope that info helps.

i tried that, but i'm not getting battery as an option. bidule is kind of a go-between. my problem is i don't know what channel to assign to the midi track, or even what channel battery is on. i might not have anything set up right.

you can get bidule at www.plouge.com , just look through the pages until you find the windows download for it. it's actually a really neat piece of software.

is anyone else using battery in this way? help!!

PS: I am working with Battery in bidule and rewire it into PTLE. This is killer, multiple outs and even less latency than RTAS. WOW.

Check the link above to see how it´s setup.

    Bidule is THE thing!

mindnoise, can i shoot you an email, i've been trying to figure out how to get this working, but i'm not getting any audio from battery. i followed the set-up link and i've got it to open in bidule, and if i click on one of the cells in battery, i get response like there would be audio, but i hear nothing. i've tried screwing around with just about every option i can think of, but i can't get anything. is there any set up options in battery i need to configure first?

    peace,

did you run bidule in rewire mode?

did you route the audio back into your host correctly?

you need to first set bidule into rewire and quit. A rewire subsystem has to be intalled, too, like from the Reason demo.
then startup PT and open the rewire plug-in. then bidule opens up automatically. then insert battery and connect the outs to the bidule mixer and assign the correct outs in PT to an AUX.

without being more specific this is all i can say now. works fine here.

i'm looking at it right now. i have bidule in re-wire mode, i have battery set to asio and everything appears as it should be there.

i followed all that, and battery opens. my problem is that i get no sound, no matter what output i change it to in re-wire, or what settings i manipulate in battery itself, or what channel i connect it to in bidule.

maybe my routing in pt is incorrect, but i have it set up just like a standard plug in, and that should work.

so, have you tried bidule in stand alone, too?

open bidule disable rewire, select the outs of your soundcard, close, start again. insert Battery, load kit, connect the outputs of battery to teh bidule mixer/outs.

If you hear somthing now the fault is with PT.

    so far
