i'm having a problem where when dj-ing, occasionally, the BCD3000 will cut out and i lose control of it.

I am still able to control Traktor manually through the laptop..but it destroys the point of having the midi controller.

if i shut down traktor unplug the midi and restart it all it starts working again fine...but it usually cuts out again at some point....

anyone know what might be wrong?

    cheers

    paul

Jup, that's enough. :D Did you already do audio optimizations on your machine? Disable WLan, Antivir and Firewall? Disable power savings for USB root hubs in the device manager?

sorry for sounding like an idiot..but what do u mean by audio optimizations?

"Disable WLan, Antivir and Firewall? Disable power savings for USB root hubs in the device manager?"

i havent tried that but after reading on a few threads here im going to try it.should that make a difference?

    thanks again

right..so ive disabled my anti virus, firewall, wlan + lan..and im still having no joy here..still bcd cutting out and traktor occasionally freezing :(

in the bcd300 control panel i have the latency at 23 ms..will it be something to do with this?

"Disable power savings for USB root hubs in the device manager"

and how do i do this!

hey guys i seem to be having a similar problem, im in depserate need of help, its been 3 months! and i havent been able to use my bcd at all! :(

my situation is this. i just bought a brand new laptop, specs are HP intel pentium dual core, 1.8ghz, 2gig ram, 160 hd, running vista home premium. Installed latest vista version of bcd drivers, updated to newest version of traktor (3.3)

    Problems
    - All works fine for five to ten minutes or so
    - all of sudden bcd unit stops working and the audio cuts out
    - i still have full control over traktor manually on laptop with my mouse but cant do anything coz no audio & no bcd
    - the little audio light at the top turns from green to red
    - only way to get it working again is exit traktor and restart
    - same issue happens again after ten mins.
    - tried changing latency to no avail
    - no programs running, shut off wireless but not firewall and didnt turn off the usb setting.

this is a brand new laptop i didnt think id have any issues,
what the hell do i have to do to get the bcd unit working! im getting VERY desperate! can someone please give me a solution!

you seem to have the same problem as me Adr3naL1N

the 2 things that happenw ith me are either

    a) the traktor program itself will freeze

    or

    b) bcd3000 cuts out....tho i can still control traktor via the laptop

its so frustrating..when it actually works its great...though it seldomly works for longer than 25 mins :(

Do audio optimizations: switch Vista to "full performance"; disable WLAN, Antivir, Firewall, power saving option for all USB root hubs in the device manager.

    hi mike

ive disabled wlan..antivir...firewall...the power saving option on ALL usb root hubs..also got a friend to setup a bach/batch? file to disable services i dont need.and still im finding the bcd "disconnecting"

what else can i do?u mentioned about changing vista to full performance..does the same apply with xp?

Did you try to install the driver again?

Let me try to understand- where do you go to do all this "audio optimization"?
And why is this not in any of the instructions that come with the unit? This stuff is crap! I see why everyone is going crazy! NI cleans there hands and sends you to Berhenger. Berhenger has no service but to keep install and uninstall...
There needs to be a posting on both websites of the fix to all these bugs!
It's nice that guys try to help, but it is a bad sign that the manufactrers are making the money and volunteers are working the solution!
    Would someone rom NI respond!

Jorgefmilan, if you want to work properly with audio on Windows you have to do optimizations because the operating system is not made for this purpose. It is done for "consumers" which listen to music, do some office stuff and surf the web. By the way, have a look and search within the Behringer online support:
    http://behringer-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/behringer_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?sm=2

    @paul
If you change the latency, will it work again?

    Mike:

Since I am new to this and did not know about having to configure (OPTIMIZING)a laptop to play the software, because the instructions and system requirments did not say anything about doing this, do you have a step by step instruction of what to do and where?
Sorry to be a pain, but I feel ripped of by ther maker of these devices and software where they do not give you the instructions of all this. I paid good $$$ for this thinking I just "plugged and play" like the box said.

Correct me, but if I :"Disable WLan, Antivir and Firewall? Disable power savings for USB root hubs in the device manager?"
    A) I can not longer connect to my WiFi router?
    B) protect my computer form viruses and trojans
    C) Only use the laptop to devote to using the Traktor and BCD3000, right?
    That makes no sense!
My laptop is for many uses!

Does a second external USB soundcard get me around this? Can you recommend one? Can I use on to run the main sound out and the other to cue headphones? Or NO...Please help.
I see you are the expert on this and I greatly appreciate your time to explain all this to ALL of us. I do not know if you are on the payroll. but if not YOU SHOULD BE.
    Your an angel...

    A) Yes
    B) Exact
    C) correct, but then without the problems

That makes sense as audio processes need a lot of resources. But Antivir for example, too. To have proper running windows systems for audio purposes (DJ, producing,...) I ALWAYS did 2 different systems on the machines: one optimized for audio without internet and one for the other stuff (if needed). Windows is not a professional operating system for audio, thats why i switched completely to Mac. Now I can do all the stuff simultaneously without any problems. But you can work fine with windows if you know how to tweak it. ;)

A second external soundcard will not help as it does not depend on the card/driver but on the operating system as explained above. To team 2 soundcards as you would like to have it you need a Mac, there this is possible (but needless as it works fine with only BCD ;)). Teaming 2 soundcards under windows is nearly impossible. Somehow it will work with ASIO4ALL, but not with satisfying performance.

Now this makes sense. Again, I wish all this would have been told to me BEFORE buying the BCD3000. If I knew I would need a laptop SOLEY for running this I would never have bought it. Because, I am doing this as a hobby. I am an old school vinyl, ex- South BEach club jock, trying to keep young by continuing with the huse music scene. I wanted my 15 year old son to follow, so I bought this to get him started. Now, I see this is not the way to go. Too expensive for a young kid and way to complicated. I will hold out and have him save for a Mac. I have never used one, so I never was interested. But now I see why it is what all musicians use.
Mike, you are awesome. I appreciate you words of wisdom.

Finally, Can you spet me thru doing this "two systems on the machine" you mentioned?
Are you talking about doing two "USERS" with different logins and different configuration? Please advise.
    Best Wishes,

minor miracle on my front..it apperas to be working now with no pauses.found an update for traktor 3 le on n.i support...updated it...and it appears to work now

only problem this seems to have brough on though is the mapping is a wee bit different, and i find that some of the effects (mainly delay) dont work.

what appears to happen with the delay is when i turn the knob fully...the sound just cuts like a filter...any ideas?

    apart from that...no complaints!

thanks for the help mike..any idea on that other wee effects glitch?
