    Hi everyone,

I finally bought a MACbookAir and even went and traded my old BCD2000 for a BCD3000. I had the BCD2000 working fine using Windows 7 and the old jog wheel fix. It even worked using Traktor Pro.

Now I am testing Traktor Pro 2 on my new mac and I just can´t get it to work? I have installed the Demo, run the wizard, selected BCD3000 from the list, then after that I loaded my tsi file from the documentation.

Following that I selected BCD3000 as my audio device and then setup my output routing to internal montior: headphone 1 & headphone 2 and master: Output 1 & output 2.

I only get sound through the headphones and it is working as if the headphone was the master not monitor.

I read here that you have to setup an aggregate device under audio midi setup. I tried that, I added the new device with output and BCD3000 selected then I went back to Traktor and changed the audio to BCD3000 aggregate and then changed the output routing.

Still nothing? I am really confused... I bought a BCD3000 so that it would work out of the box with Traktor and I wouldn´t have to do what I did wuth the old BCD2000 (which was a headache).

    Has anyone got any tips?

Is the sound card set as the audio output in the audio prefs?

Have you set the sample rate in traktor to match the sound card sample rate?

From your sig I can see that you have a MAC as well... Do you have it set up? I have been trying all afternoon to get it working I am following this thread:

    www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58054

Basically I am trying to configure it using an aggregate midi. It is driving me crazy, the buttons work, the LED lights, cueing, everything. But I for the life of me can´t get the sound set up configured.

I can hear sound either in my headphones or through the laptop speakers. However I can´t use the headphone like a monitor it just repeats what being played on master.

Additionally I don´t want the sound through the laptop speakers, I want it through the RCA jacks at the pack which I have plugged into my amp? I am really surprised that it is harder to set up than on a windows based machine.

In answer to your question a. I have aggregate device as my audio device and b. I have no idea what my sound card frequency is, I assume it is 44100hz as this is the only option...

Should I put up screen shots?

    Yeah some screenshots would help.

    Can I see your:

    - OSX Sound preference pane with the soundcard selected.
    - Traktor output routing

Can you also provide the values available in the drop down lists for channel assignment in the output routing section.

    Thanks

    Some success

OK, I can report that I have it working however I am a little confused.

The monitor is working i.e. Split sound through headphones. The Master is coming out of the Laptop sound card... not through the RCA jack at the back of the BCD.

Is this normal for Mac OSX? My old BCD2000 under W7 would have the sound coming from the Master RCA at the back of the BCD.

If this is the way it only works under OSX then I guess I will have to live with it... if not then please let me know and I will post my screen shots.

    Thanks for your help.

I would say that the reason you are only getting sound through the laptop speakers is either:

You still have core audio as the audio device in Traktor (also make sure the sample rate is correct - you can check this on the output tab for the device in Audio Midi Setup)

    Or

You need to set the BCD3000 as the audio output device in Audio Midi Setup. The device sound be listed in the left hand column. Right click and select 'Use this device for sound output'. Try playing a track in iTunes to confirm its working.

If it is neither of the above then I'm stumped. Screenshots would help me.

    I´ll post screenies

Hey OK, I´m at work at the moment but I will put up some screenshots when I get home. I think I am close to having this configured and I am sure you are right.

I can confirm that I don´t have core audio in the audio device for Traktor. I have aggregate device which I setup through the OSX midi device setup under utilities.

"You need to set the BCD3000 as the audio output device in Audio Midi Setup. The device sound be listed in the left hand column. Right click and select 'Use this device for sound output'."

I haven´t done this so I think this maybe the missing link. When you say Audio Midi Setup, I assume you´re referring to the MAC under utilities and not Traktor... Can´t wait to get home I will test it straight away and post my screenshots.

Thanks for helping me man I really appreciate it... I was going crazy thinking I would never get it to work and that I would have to use my W7 laptop!

arrh bad news... I tried to right click on the BCD 3000 in Mac audio Midi devices and added it as an output device and now I hear nothing from the external RCA jacks of the BCD 3000 nor the laptop speakers. :S

    HELP!

At least before it worked with the laptop sound card... now I have nothing!

I have uploaded the screen shots but I must admit I am feeling rather down :(...

Is there anyway I can reset the BCD3000? I have tried looking but it is eluding me...

The screen shots I have posted show the last working config...

    Vaya mierda!

You'll need to set the Audio Device in Traktor to be the same as the output device in the Audio Midi Setup.

Does the BCD3000 appear in the drop down list for the Audio Device in Traktor? I would assume it does so select it.

Not sure why you have set up an aggregated device? The manual says channels 1 & 2 are for MASTER and 3 & 4 are for PHONES when using a Mac. So change the output routing to reflect this.

    If that doesn't work....

Revert Traktor to how you have it in the screen shots and what happens when you set the Aggregated device as the audio output in the Audio Midi Setup?

This is the thing I don´t understand... I set it up the way you have told me the first time and I plugged it in and all I get is the sound coming through the headphones and not through the external RCA at the back of the BCD?

The monitor function works on... i.e. I can hear the track through the headphones however there is no way I can get it to come out through the Master RCA on the BCD... I just don´t understand...

What do you suggest? I have right clicked on the BCD3000 in Midi Audio setup and selected it for sound output but I am still not having any luck.

Hmmm something doesn't add up here. Let's forget about Traktor for the time being and just try and get some sound via the BCD3000.

    Try this....

    Utilities > Audio Midi Setup:

Select BCD3000 (NOT the aggregated device) as output and input audio device.

    System Preferences > Sound:

Check that BCD3000 is selected on both the input and output tabs.

    iTunes:

Play a track. Do you get sound?

    If no check the following:

    Master volume on BCD3000
RCA cable (try a different one)
    AMP (input / volume)
System Preferences > Sound > Input tab - is there an input level?
Also try taking the laptop out of the equation and plug in an MP3 player to one of the inputs to see if you get sound via the RCA output.

OK I have followed your test instructions

Master volume on BCD3000: set to 70%
RCA cable (try a different one): Tried several
AMP (input / volume): Working and tested with my phone playing an MP3
System Preferences > Sound > Input tab - is there an input level?: NO INPUT LEVEL
Also try taking the laptop out of the equation and plug in an MP3 player to one of the inputs to see if you get sound via the RCA output: I plugged my phone in playing an MP3 using both RCA jacks at the back of the BCD and still nothing. I think it must be broken.

Still no external sound... could my BCD3000 have a fault?

Did you remove the aggregated device settings?
Normally you'd only create an aggregated device to combine multiple audio interfaces.
As you're only using the BCD for audio there's no point in complicating things.

    Output routing should read
    Internal
    Master 1 & 2
    Monitor/phones 3 & 4

You should be able to run the Traktor setup wizard and choose the BCD3000, for a simple life ;)

I have done all of the above about 1000 times. I am at a total lose as to why this won´t work?

    99% sure its faulty

I'm pretty sure the BCD is faulty. It has no external sound on W7 either, plus there is something dodgy. I tried to register traktor le and it said it was already registered! I'm sending it back!

Ive got it working, it did take me a while though.

in traktor pref> Audio setup, use BCD3000 as the audio device

    Output routing> output monitor L :Headphone L
    Output routing> Output monitor R :Headphone R

    Output master L> Front left
    Output master R> Front r

    System prefs> sounds> Output : BCD3000

    hope that helps
