    Hi There.

Im in the process of beat matching all my song in my collection on my computer. I have another computer with all the same music on it, and i was wondering if it is possible to beat match the songs on one computer, save the collection, then transfer it to the other computer?

So therefore both computer have the exact same collection and all songs are beat matched the same, so there pretty much identical.

Just wondering if anyone has done it before or knows if it will work before i stuff around with it.
    Thanks!

You are just talkiing about collection, not preferences (traktor.tsi file) right?

If your music files are in the same place on the second computer you should be able to just copy the collection.nml plus CoverArt, Stripe and Transient data files. If you just copy the collection TPro will miss the analysis data and will reanalyze (new) tracks.

I personally would sync (in that order) the music files, transient, coverart, stripe data and the collection.

Yes, it can be done. I do it often for backup purposes, it's easiest when all directories are in the same place ;-)

To get just the beat grids and cue points from computer A to computer B, you can simply copy over the audio files. Traktor stores song-specific information such as beat-grid markers, cue points, and autogain values in the files themselves.

It is advised that you run a consistency check followed by an analysis job on B. otherwise, traktor will have to compute the stripes upon the first time you load a track on B.

If you want to transfer other settings as well (e.g., playlists, or MIDI mappings), you will need to copy over parts of the Traktor root folder or certain .tsi files you generated for that purpose. For details, cf. ch. 14 of the Traktor manual.

So your saying I can just transfer my songs in my music library on one computer to the other and the beat grids and cue point I set on the 1st computer will be also transfered over?

Say I have a collection on one computer and all beat grids set and what not, can i just save that collection, copy it to the other computer and will traktor just import them songs and beat grids?
sorry for all the questions :S

yes, i do that all the time.

the beatgrids are saved IN THE TRACKS itself. if you copy the collection too, what you get is the playlists you made on computer 1.
