I had a hard drive die recently and i lost my collection database. The tracks were all on a separate disk though so they were fine (& backed up anyway).

When I imported tracks into a new collection file, I found that all of my cuepoints and beatgrids were lost. :shout: :wallbash: I thought that since 2.5 these were written to the ID3 tag, in addition to the playlist/case/collection?

The stripes were regenerated properly, as I guess these are stored in a compressed form in the ID3 tag. But cues and beatgrids are gone.

Has this feature not been implemented yet?

I don't know if this would help, but:

I direct the collection to a seperate folder. In my case the collection and tracks are on drive D: Then I back up drive D:. This should back up everything.

If you have your tracts in a "Music Folder", you could have a collection folder under the music folder, that you direct the collection to. Then when you back up the Music folder, the collection, stripes and tags would be backed up.

If the collection database, stripes and the tags are all backed up, it should save everything??

@Joe: I fully agree, and this is what i've done from now on. I keep the collection on the same drive as the tracks themselves.

However, i'm still perplexed as to why my cuepoints and beatgrids were lost... can anyone else verify that cues, loadmarkers and beatgrids are written to ID3 tags in the current release? Otherwise...guess I will assume this feature has not yet been implemented.
