This'll probably cause a few laughs but I'm new to this program and don't know how to fully use it yet... :D

How do ya beat match using this software?

At the moment I just keep on pressin the sync button when the beat goes outta line but surely there has to be a easier way to do it....

Any help or tips are appreciated..

what is easier than pressing a button

I'm not kidding ! Another more accurate method is to define a "beatgrid" ...

use the search button in the upper right corner of your screen to get more information if interested !

Explaining how to beat match would be very complicated, and any attempt to explain clearly would just be confusing...

But I suggest you do a search on this forum for "beat grid"... learning this will help you avoid a lot of the drifting so you won't have to Sync so many times.

Another piece of advice is to get used to the Pitch Bend buttons above the Sync. They're crucial! To beat-match effectively, you need to get your senses attuned to what adjustments you have to make MANUALLY... whether this is on turntables, CD decks, or Traktor. It's just something to learn.

Also, in cueing the upcoming track on headphones, I learned this little routine to help beat-matching, and it's something I have so far found Traktor wonderful for:
    1) with your Active deck playing, cue your upcoming track up where you want to start it.

    2) Press Sync ( hopefully you've set up beat grids for these tracks by now so Sync will be more accurate)

    3) Set a loop... I usually go for 8

    4) Tap the cue button in sort of a "1,2,3,4" beat to match where you want the beat to fit with the ongoing track.

    5) when you've got a fairly smooth match, be ready to hit "play" on the upcoming deck... with the loop function on and only audible on headphones.

    6) Of course now it's up to you when to crossfade over to your new track and when to release that loop you set.

At this point, it's easier to get the hang of using the pitch bend buttons to "push" or "pull" the track you're cueing to fit the beat of the active deck without really effecting the speed - you're really just giving the cue track "nudges" .

Try this out for a while... It works for me. And it's probably good practice. Sounds complicated, but it's not once you get used to it, and it feels pretty natural.

    good luck.
