I just upgraded from 2.03 and for the life of me, I cannot beatgrid a song quickly, easily and accurately. What the heck happened? Back to 2.03.

i know when i went from s4 to 2.5 i had to re-beatgrid from my old metronome grids that were locked. It worked out better in the long run.

    can`t confirm this at all.
previous gridded tracks (that was locked) are working fine, gridding a new track works like to like as in 2.0.3

In 2.5.1 there is a different way to set the range. It needs to be close to the actual bpm of the song for either end of the range.
Otherwise you get doubled or halved bpm results. There is also an average bpm implemented now so varied bpms get a grid that can be off in some spots.

Yes, all of the locked grids are fine....as I would expect them to be. It's gridding new tracks that i find impossible. It is not the same as 2.0.3.
I don't use the auto function. I load the track. Place the grid marker. Turn on the metronome and use the backward and forward buttons to line up the grid. Very simple. I cannot get the grid to line up perfectly in 2.5.1. I have it set to beatsync in the preferences and auto in the master clock. It's a bummer. But, I'm fine with 2.0.3. It is what it is, I guess.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but auto beatgrid is even simpler than your procedure.

Try it, you may be surprised. You'll have to manually modify some grids but most of the time the job's done properly, according to my experience.

When i move the grid left or right i have to stop and start the track to see if it lines up with the metronome tick sound, anyone else the same?

Right. Very annoying. I went straight from 2.03 to 2.5.1, so I don't know about 2.5. That being said. Gridding is not what it was....fun, easy and accurate. So, because i have more use for gridding than sample decks, etc, I have rolled back. The one thing I care about that I am missing out on is the "headroom" adjustment which would be nice when I am using my S4.

Autogridding changes nothing...you still have to move the marker..there is no sort of on beat with the metronome...kind of like being pregnant. You either are or you are not.

    I have the same problem!

I have tracks that BPM was set by 3rd party and always worked accurate before 2.5 came along. here is what happened.

I used MixMister to set the BPM of the track. then in traktor i would just set a first grid marker and all the other ones would line up.

After i upgraded to 2.5 i load up every song. if not at least 2 out of 3 songs when i set the first bit gride about 1 min into the song the beat grids would be off. and i have to adjust my bpm to new bpm or sometime it wont even line up.

i think there is problem with TP 2.5 and higher.

maybe the internal clock or timing for actual bpm is not right. but let me know if someone also find a fix. and i make sure to post it if i find something.

there is no gridding problem with traktor. your tracks might be analyzed wrong because you have chosen a range that was not close enough.

I'll try to mess around with the range. But as far as I know all the setting are all the same. I'll keep you guys updated.

How far apart do you recommend puting the setting from what it suppose to be?
For example if the BPM i think it is 128. Should I set the ranges at 120-140 off by 10bpm or can I go higher?
